1, Trevor Lawrence still with Jags (good but not great qb yet) career 58td 39 int qb rating 85
2. Zach Wilson TRADED (bust)
3. Trey Lance TRADED (bust)
11. Justin Fields TRADED (underperformed expectations)
15. Mac Jones TRADED (bust)

pretty amazing 4 of the 5 first rounders traded and gone from original team after 3 seasons
shows how terrible teams are at scouting college qbs.

4 of the 5 started in their first year

I can see clearly now, the rain has gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It's gonna be a bright, bright sun-shining day
It's gonna be a bright, bright sun-shining day

I think I can make it now, the pain has gone
All of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here is that rainbow I've been praying for
It's gonna be a bright, bright sun-shining day

Look all around, there's nothing but blue sky
Look straight ahead, nothing but blue sky

I can see clearly now, the rain has gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone're the dark clouds that had me blind
It's gonna be a bright, bright sun-shining day
It's gonna be a bright, bright sun-shining day
Gonna be a bright, bright sun-shining day
Gonna be a bright, bright, bright sun-shining day

Have a bright sun-shining day Sam

That doesn't mean teams are terrible at scouting quarterbacks, it simply means they can't predict the future. The likes of Tom Brady and Tony Romo come to mind. But for every player picked in every round of the draft, there are many more at each position that don't make it. Remember, N'Keal Harry was universally considered a solid pick 'til he later proved otherwise.

That’s why multiple trade downs would have been my approach. And everyone in the draft forum knew how much I liked Spencer Rattler. Taken at 150? He’s going to turn some heads in his career.

Seen the photo from the Saints x page of his look of steely determination and resolve? I contrast his appearance with that of Gomer Pyle Maye cavorting into the Patriots building on his first day.

Young man, things will get real soon enough. Yeah, you had a leaky interior OL last season at UNC. But your tackles were adequate.

Not the case in NE, buddy. After you watch Jacoby get bruised and battered, you’ll know fear. Cuz we got no LT.

Damn man sobering this early Saturday.
Maye, McCarthy was my plan A.
I Harrison JR and drafting a QB later I thought Rattler wouldn’t get out of the third.
Hell of a value there for the saints.
But I think Maye is gamer just cause he’s a super nice kid from Carolina doesn’t mean he’s not tough and certainly doesn’t mean he’s not crazy talented.
I liked Spencer for a lot of reasons as well the number 1 losing his job to Caleb.
There’s a lot of guys who would lose their job to Caleb.

"Steely determination and resolve"? More like "I forgot I had a pie in the oven" or "Wow, this long division problem is hard" face. I was expecting to see eye of the tiger Drew Brees face.

Spencer Rattler is only 6’0”. But he spins a marvelous ball.

Going to make the Commanders and Bears look silly for drafting Daniels, who screams exciting change of pace QB2, and BUST Caleb Wlliams.

If Mac Jones is a bust, then Justin Fields is too. Mac has a higher QBR despite having two atrocious seasons back to back. That shows you how bad Fields has been. Both traded for 6th round picks (with Fields yielding a bit more potential return for the Bears if he plays more than 51% of the teams snaps).

10 - 1st round QB's drafted in round 1 - 2020 > 2022 ... 6 starters
42 QB's drafted 2020 > 2022 .... 8 starters (if I did not miss any)
If a QB is there in round 1 you better draft one of them and pray to the QB gods.

The top 5 QB's rated/drafted in 2020 are all decent starters.
Burrow ... Tua ... Herbert ... Love ... Hurts

Caleb with that supporting cast can’t bust.
He is Set up beautifully.
Now if Caleb gets broken by a D lineman and says eff this thats what I want to see I want to Caleb get laid out by like a Christian Barmore and be fearless next time he’s in his path,
Jayden Daniels to me the question is and always has been his arm talent and if having all pro WRs made him look that much better,
I think the slight frame is a little exaggerated Wash will be careful with him,

You are 100% correct, and this is exactly why Maye will not be QB2 this season. They are out of their minds if they throw him to the wolves. Ruin your next great QB right after you ruined your last franchise QB? Not gonna happen, unless Wolf/Mayo are beyond stupid.

Agreed. But Mac situation was done by the coaching that ruined his relationship and trajectory. Once the relationship between coach and player is ruined it almost never tends to work out. On Drake it's all going to depend on camp.. if he's overwhelming better than Brissett then then the coaching staff will have to give him the opportunity to start the season. Because Mayo's preaching competition and the player who does the best at every position should have ample opportunity!

Or we have faith in our line and run game and think we can make a playoff run with Maye. We have a lot of depth at WR but yes no WR1.
I’d offer a third and Ju Ju for Higgins or Aiyuk still.

Curran was saying it's likely something happens with a trade by camp for WR 1.. the other factor here is.. if Polk or baker wich I'm high on show they can be WR1 then it's only a great thing for the offense. The AVP offense is so WR centric even N'Keal Harry could catch a pass in it. Another forgotten factor is the signing of Gibson.. he will line up out wide on some formations .

I will be shocked if Maye is even QB2 going into game one. He needs time to develop and the OL is garbage until proven otherwise. They aren't going to allow it. As I've said elsewhere, imagine if Drake gets blasted from behind on his 3rd NFL snap because the RT they drafted actually can't play LT very well, and suffers an injury like a 3rd degree concussion or a serious knee injury (severe MCL+ACL tears). There will be torches and pitch forks lining the stadium exits, because you just pissed away the future of the team for what? A year in which you weren't going to make the playoffs anyway? He'll only be out there if Brissette goes down, he's had a great camp, AND the OL looks solid. If the OL is still garbage, it will be Zappe or whatever vet backup they acquire.

Oh Your not wrong, you make valid points. I'm just eluding to training camp everything is competition driven. He is the 3rd overall pick. We took a QB becuase we didn't have one. He's the most talented QB we have on the roster. He just needs seasoning and some more development like all rookies need. Injuries unfortunately are part of the game. I firmly believe everything will be done correctly to develop him the right way. I agree yeah let Zapp run around and be the crash dummy under the line. But let's see what develops in camp right now they are just installing the offense.
