What's left on the agenda for the remainder of this offseason?

Did the GM come out and basically call Anderson the starter?

“If the season started tomorrow, I think it would be (Chukwuma) Okorafor,” Wolf said.

A guy with 13 snaps at LT over a 6 yr career over a guy with 673 snaps over his 4 years. Wolf isn't the guy making the game day roster. That's Mayo.

Yea not sure Oshane Ximines will make the roster but hes pretty intriguing...
I think that he and McMillan will vie for a spot as the SP/Reserve LB. Ximenes would fit into a rotation with Judon, Jennings, and Uche.

Chukwuma Okorafor will be our Starting Left Tackle he's built for it. That JAG Anderson should be Cut!

Collaboration.

But even without collaboration I'll take Wolf at his word.

Not for this year, but to complete the offensive rebuild:
Sign Aiyuk in offseasn
Draft LT William Campbell in 1st in 2025
Maybe resign RHAM or draft replacement
Jake Andrews at C or draft replcement

QB: Maye
RB: Rham
WR: Aiyuk
WR: Baker
WR: Polk
TE: Henry
LT: Campbell
LG: Sow
C: Andrews
RG: Onwenu
RT: Wallace

He did NOT excel. Go watch the games. He wiffed numerous times on run blocks against the Giants. He got undressed against Buffalo.

Stop believing PFF and try watching the games.

Your last comment holds ZERO weight when it comes to the CBA. Guards, Centers, and OT are all under the O-line umbrella.

Since you weren't paying attention. The top 3 RIGHT guards are making 20.5, 20, and 18.5.. Onwenu got 19M. Onwenu was no where close to being a Top 5 RT last season.
First off, I dont read PFF. He excelled the year before but was more average last year. Also, I said tackles tend to be more valuable which shows that the RG salaries top fairly quick where #10 is under 10 mil while RT doesn't hit under 10 mil till #16. Look at the draft, how many tackles come off in the early rounds vs OG. Tackles are considered more valuable.

He's our RT despite what you pencil him in for which was the whole point. You said he is our starting guard in a discussion and while you might not like it, he is our RT for all purposes of discussion.

Incorrect. Onwenu has NEVER "excelled" playing RT. You're smoking s**t if you think that's the case.

As for how quickly OTs come off. It depends on the year and the amount of depth.

YOU can think whatever you want. You can swallow the BS that Wolf spews until it's billowing out your eyeballs. I don't care. Go bloviate in response to someone else.

lol...you doing okay?

OTs always coming off quicker than guards in every draft.

Love this. I think Higgins might be more gettable from CINC than Aiyuk from SF, but same idea.

They can keep Onwenu at RT for now and try Wallace at RT, but feels like in the long run that OL alignment is best for everyone. Onwenu can play RT but he's great at RG. Even if Wallace is able to pick up LT, he's likely still a better RT than he is LT. And with the team likely picking high again, a top prospect at LT is as good a draft pick as any up that high in the draft.

Higgins probably in there because I’m sure the 9ers will franchise Aiyuk.

Sorry, didn't read the first 5 pages, but I hope someone within them has mentioned our need at both Free Safety (IOW, a DMac replacement) and at Outside CB opposite Gonzo. The needs on offense are already fairly obvious; no need to mention - cough, LeftTackle, cough, 3rdDownBack, cough - them all here...

For one of the worst teams in the league, this isn't a long list of key needs.

I agree. We need a FS, CB, LT and RB.

I suspect that we will attempt to meet a couple of these needs before camp,

Not sure they'll address all of the needs people list.

CB for example... we have Gonzalez, Alex Austin, J Jones, M Jones, Wade, Marco Wilson all as guys who have played regular snaps for teams and (besides J Jones) are 25 or under. Then they have Isaiah Bolden from last year and Marcellus Dial from this past draft as more young guys I think they seemingly have shown some optimism on.

At FS, the combo trio of Dugger/Peppers/Mapu didn't hold us back last year. On paper there's certainly room for a true center field type, but they got by without one last year. And some of those CBs I listed above might potentially factor into the FS mix along with Bledsoe who they keep on keeping around.

LT is a need on paper, but in the big picture not sure they'll see the need to add someone. They seem to have Onwenu entrenched at RT at least for now, just to lock that spot down. David Andrews obviously is entrenched at center.

So what does that leave them at guard? Strange/Sow/Mafi/JAndrews/Robinson are all guys they've drafted in the last 3 years. That's a good amount of youth to compete for the 2 G spots.

And at LT, they have Okorafor/Anderson/Wallace/Lowe/Wheatley competing. Not the most inspiring group, but Wallace in particular seems like someone they specifically targeted and felt was undervalued because he got pushed to RT at Penn State. They could definitely sign a guy like Leno or Donovan Smith to provide a more solid veteran option, but feels like they really want to give Wallace a shot to win that job. And seems like they're confident that if that fails Okorafor can play the spot not so terribly that it kills the entire unit and wastes a year of development for everyone.

At those positions, I think they might just want to just let the young guys compete for spots. Maybe it backfires and they get poor play, but to be fair it's pretty much the same group they had on defense last year and it's not like it killed them. The LT on offense is more concerning, but seems like they've hitched their wagon to who's there.

The RB spot is one I see more likely to address. They just lack bodies there. At those other spots they have options to compete in camp. At RB they don't even have enough guys to bring into camp really. They almost have to add there.

Would definitely like a Faulk type for 3rd down. Gibson seems to be the 3rd down back but I don't know his pass catching style enough to say what this means. Hopefully they pick up a preseason cut vet because is either of their top two backs go down, it's slim Pickens after that.

Agreed. Great post.

Austin might work out but he is a little slow. It would be great to have a real #2 CB. Wade is limited, and Wilson, while physically gifted, always has personal issues wherever he goes, so neither is a viable option. Bolden came from a Div. #2 school and played very little in camp last year, and Dial is a rookie, so look for them in 2025. I do not think there is a #2 CB on the existing roster.

Maybe we can get by. It is frustrating to pass on guys like McKinley when we still have over $50M in cap space. Cheap, cheap, cheap.

Curiously I am hoping that Anderson or Wheatley shine as they are athletic and might be serviceable. The rest, including Wallace trying to switch from RT where he played four years at Penn State, will be very disappointing.

We definitely need a couple of veteran RBs. No idea what is causing Wolf to hold off in signing them.

All is deflection.

Posters here know that Onwenu is playing RG and that the team totally wasted a pick by drafting a RG so highly.
Drafting an OG over Braelon Allen who would've filled both a position of need as insurance if Rhamondre gets injured, and could be the #1 RB of the future if Rhamondre doesn't resign (or proves to be even better than Rhamondre and they don't need to resign him), will prove to be a mistake. Regardless, we need more talent in the RB Corps and are also thin there with what we do have.
