What's left on the agenda for the remainder of this offseason?

I think similar to the years with Wynn if we can shore up the other 4 spots and get some better coaching we should be able to work around it. Hopefully Orkorofor or Wallace can transition to the left side and at least give us what Wynn did. Obviously 12 helped cover some of that up too. Maybe we can find a vet someone is considering cutting and make a small trade but probably going to need Orkorofor or Wallace.
Okorafor has very little experience playing LT. He's a RT by trade.

Anderson is more likely to be the LT than Okorafor, honestly.

Contrary to PFF, Okorafor was the better RT last year. He lost out because the Steelers draft pick to play LT was a bomb but played fine at RT.

When did BB ever pay big money for an LT? Why did he go into last season with a rookie guard at RT and Mr. pissed off and unreliable (Trent Brown) at LT?

Matt Light says HI..

Light was the 3rd highest paid LT at one point.

Thanks, I've been trying to remember who you mentioned a few weeks ago as a potential conversion from CB to FS.
Or was there some other CB as well?

Bolden played some at safety in pre-season last year and some at CB. I had hoped he'd replace Myles Bryant in that role. Then that illegal hit to the head happened in Pre-Season and that went up in smoke.

I know others have mentioned Jon Jones or Shaun Wade moving back to FS. Jaylinn Hawkins is who the Pats gave a prove-it deal to.

Free Safety/Deep Safety is one of the positions I've been curious about because we don't know the type of defense that Mayo is going to run.

Will it be a 4 - 2 - 5 Hybrid? Where 2 of the front 4 are EDGE guys like Judon/Jennings? Or will it be a 3-1? with the one being from Judon/Jennings/Uche.

OR will it be more of a traditional 3-4-4 or 4-3-4?

I still stand by my statement as long as coaching is better and the other 4 spots are solid I think we can get by with what we have to at LT.

I’d like to bring in

1) LT David Bakhtiari. Former two time All Pro for GB who is rehabbing from injury. He’s 32 and still wants to play. If he has anything left, he would be a good addition to the Oline.

2) CB Gilmore or Xavien Howard to shore up the secondary.

3) RB

BB certainly did not think so. Now BB may have his draft weaknesses (as far as WRs and second round CBs), but he is way above anyone else on this forum.
While BB's football knowledge outstrips everyone on Patsfans, he's no longer coaching because BB the GM spectacularly failed BB the coach.

I think the team is fine with choosing from

CB: Gonzales, Jones, Jones, Austin, Bolden, Wilson and Wade (and possibly Jackson)

We also might sign Gilmore.

Dial is competing for a Practice Squad position.
You're putting an awful lot of faith in guys that made two plays in meaningless games last year.

What they should do and will do are world's apart. I look at the current depth chart and think, boy theres a lot of dead weight at the end of some position groups. But then I look at that dead weight and realize, the collaboration station brought a lot of these guys in this offseason... they're not about to cut them already.

Michael Jordan and Nick Leverett at guard... jags.
La'Michael Pettway and UDFA Jacob Warren at TE... jags.
Ke'Shawn Vaughn, JaMycal Hasty and UDFA Deshaun Fenwick at RB... jags.

Most of the UDFA guys they brought in are jags, which again for all these guys is not really a problem... except they aren't going to cut them already sigh unseen.

What they should do?

Bring in Andrus Peat to compete at left tackle but he can also play well at guard. Bring in a bigger heady vet CB to play free safety this year so their three SS's can play down near the line of scrimmage more, they're going to miss Jalen Mills cover ability a little more than they think. Bring in another vet WR, preferably a big tall fast guy like Jalen Guyton to compete with Thornton for that field stretcher position... more speed outside is never a bad thing, especially when you have two rookie QB's who can heave it 90 yards. They have money, now is time to spend on value vets who don't count against the compensatory process. The problem is they're already over 90 guys... cut some fat.

Yeah. Why would ANYONE put Onwenu at the ONE position he EXCELLED at rather than at the position he was a JAG at??
He has excelled at RT....last, he was more average. Also, tackles worth more than guards.

He did NOT excel. Go watch the games. He wiffed numerous times on run blocks against the Giants. He got undressed against Buffalo.

Stop believing PFF and try watching the games.

Your last comment holds ZERO weight when it comes to the CBA. Guards, Centers, and OT are all under the O-line umbrella.

Since you weren't paying attention. The top 3 RIGHT guards are making 20.5, 20, and 18.5.. Onwenu got 19M. Onwenu was no where close to being a Top 5 RT last season.

The bolded are all backups. Bolden makes the 53 as a kick returner and Austin is our youngster who hope is developing.

I think that Gonzo, Gilmore, Jon Jones are a fine set of starters, with the punt and kick returners (Marcus and Bolden) as backups. I expect Austin to be a 6th. He will continue to develop or not.

I’d like to see them add to both lines. Donovan Smith or another left tackle just in case neither Wallace nor Okarfor take to the position change to LT. On defense a back up pass rusher would be nice. There isn’t a ton of depth at the dl.

Simmons had 3 ints and 5 PBUs last season on 36 targets and allowing 3 TDs. .

Dugger had 2ints and 5 PBUS on 63 targets and allowed 2 TD..

I think they're going to let Isaiah Bolden and Jaylinn Hawkins battle it out..
I completely forgot about Bolden. He could very well be the big CB who can match up physically with the big 50-50 guys like KColeman

Also the need for that match up guy is getting over played Gonzo is 6'2" he can match up the bigger guys. And JJ can match up against the smaller quicker guys.

I really don't understand why people don't appreciate JJ around here. He's been our best corner for several years running (a few weeks when Gonzo was healthy aside).

We now have both healthy and they are as good as most any duo in the league.

And Marcus as our 3rd corner is pretty good too.

Our safety group is pretty good too so it's not like we're going to need to be covering up for anyone. DB is a strength of this team.

I am a little nervous about not having BB as I think DBs are his specialty but with Mayo and Covington I think this should be ok even though they are front 7 guys.

Thanks don't mention it DB.

Did the GM come out and basically call Anderson the starter?

“If the season started tomorrow, I think it would be (Chukwuma) Okorafor,” Wolf said.

No slight on JJ. He is a very good slot CB and a capable boundary guy. I thought that we HAD to get a Gilmore or Howard before camp. Again this is what I thought before I remembered Bolden.

I STILL wouldn't mind adding one of those guys since you can't have too many quality CB's, but now it's less of a priority. Of course this assumes Bolden looks healthy and effective in the run up to camp
