There's No Way Schuster Makes This Team.

Good to know. For some reason I didn't remember Marcus Jones returning many kickoffs. I would think that does lower Raegor's chances of making the roster if it comes down to him and Thornton or Juju.
Marcus did it all KR, PR, Corner, and even little WR. He's my binky.

That Information isn't new. It's what the KC medical staff mentioned and ultimately why he wasn't re-signed. Juju said himself when he signed here he played in pain, and discomfort during the superbowl.
This is because he injured his knee in the regular season, it required surgery but doctors told him he could play on it if he could manage the pain.

It had nothing to do with "chronic" knee issues, it had to do with him being a tough mother and doing right by his team... not unlike Cole Strange playing injured last year.

Jones had 27 kick returns for 645 yards and a long of 46.

Raegor only had 7 last year for 221 yards with a long of 98 and a TD. Obviously the TD return skews it a little.

I like them both and if the new rules dictate using 2 Kick returners than we are in good shape.

But Jones is definitely good enough that Raegor is not a lock.
Isaiah Bolden was also an explosive kick returner in college, I could see him getting some opportunity there.

Agreed. Juju has a few knee issues going back to pitt. He just needs to show up to camp healthy and I believe he well have his opportunity to compete.

That room will need a leader with a bunch of kids in there, Bourne might start the season on the injured list... we'll see.

Maybe the rookies are dominant, Douglas comes back stronger than last year and even Thornton looks good and there's no place for Juju... I wouldn't bet my car on it.

We need to help Marcus focus. He is one of the top punt returners in the league. Hopefully, he is also learning enough to be the backup NB and future replacement for Jon Jones. He sill be more valuable if he isn't "everything".

Ok he doesn't have to play WR lol.

Yes, was an all pro in 2022. Our return game suffered mightily without him last season. I love his instincts as a CB.. but I believe he's likely going to continue to make his mark as an perennial all-pro STs ace.

We will see. When he was on the field he eas either dropping passes or not even having a catch. If we can get the juju that had the big game in Pittsburgh last season than that will only help the offense.

Last seasons offense had the worst QB play in the NFL and the team had a dysfunctional relationship between coaches, scheme and ownership… in short it was a clusterfck.

It’s 2024, everyone should get a fresh start to begin again. If Juju is healthy he’ll be fine, if he isn’t he’ll be weeded out pretty quickly. After this year his contract is a non factor.

IF any of the Reagor - Thornton or Boutte show something Juju is going to get Traded or Cut! contract notwithstanding. Of the Three I think Reagor is quite intriguing he might come around to form he has talent. There is going to be really good competition @ WR because the aforementioned are not Guaranteed a Roster spot.

BB the GM chose to sign a guy at 60% rather than a guy at 100% he developed and had success here.

the CB depth (lack of) has me concerned for having Marcus return kicks or punts. Gonzo, Jon Jones, Marcus Jones and a bunch of question marks at the moment, and we saw last season Marcus and Gonzo go down for their seasons.
they need to sign a vet CB and let the young guys battle for the 5th and 6th CB slots.

He was forced to sign him...

lets not forget Wade, Bolden, and Wilson who will all be tough to cut.
I hope they can all play ST at a high level.

I believe we have plenty depth at CB.. FS is more of the pressing concern. However I do agree on signing a veteran at CB to add to the depth of the position. I have Gonzo- LCB, Jon- slot, Marcus-slot in dime formations.. , Austin- LCB. As the top 4 right now.

even at 100%, I do not see JuJu as the WR that beats his defender off the LOS or runs routes that make him an open target.
in KC, he was schemed open, or had time given Mahomes ability to move behind the LOS.
the Pats need JuJu to step up his game big time. I question if he can

Wade has been around for a few years and got a chance last year given the injuries and Jack Jones cut. his rating against was an abysmal 86%. Bolden was a 7th round pick that has yet to play an nfl snap. they will be tough to cut because the team has no one else. Austin showed some flashes, and Wilson is best inside.
need more back there
