OT: Players you forget were Patriots

No, he couldn't. But sadly it does seem like when he eventually passes away it will be revealed he had some CTE going on. Obviously he acts like a damn clown and has some done some downright destructive things to people, but I think you do have to acknowledge that some of it is out of his control (or strongly appears to be).

Such a different personality than (post-Burfict?) today.

How about a guy with over 10,000 yards receiving and 78 touchdowns?

Short Attention Span Theatre

Growing old is . . . oh crap, I forgot what I was going to say.
It is a pretty long thread so who can blame you?! (Other than a jerk like me, of course)

Has anyone mentioned Jim Plunkett? Depending on the age of folks here, the reaction to that will probably be either "of course we remember him!" and "who dat?"

But I came of age (born 1973) when I only knew him from the Raidahs and found out later that he played for the Pats.
I saw Plunkett play at Shaeffer Stadium in his rookie year - Also WR Randy Vataha . Plunkett throwing a long pass to Vataha was a thing of beauty.

I can't believe Randy is now 76 Years old. Yikes! LOL

Here's another one. Fred McCrary. He was a good FB blocking for Tomlinson in SD. He didn't play much in 2003.

So glad that everyone has forgotten Steve DeOssie!

Did we mention Chuck Foreman? Oakland Raider Mark Van Eegan?

Doing some research on this topic, came across a great football name. Shockmain Davis. Didn't remember the player, but cool AF name.

Duane Starks and Monty Beisel were a couple of maligned early-dynasty era Patriots.

Freddy Smerlas
This is a really good one. He came here his last year, and even though people thought he was washed, still played pretty well.

Michael Floyd. Gave an awesome block against the Dolphins that made him a Boston hero for a week haha. Sorry if he has already been mentioned. Just lays the guy out for Edelman.

Made me curious about the guy he blew up, so I found:

TL;DR: Special teams as a rookie, started one year as a DB, next camp he blew out his ACL, was released, was on NYG for a year, then off to the CFL.

Also, FWIW, he is a cousin of former New England Patriots cornerback Ronnie Lippett.

Ronnie was one of the most underrated corners that ever played here.
