We know for a fact he won't be ready for next season? His injury wasn't that late into the season.

Also, he would likely come back very cheap thanks to the injury. What would be the harm in bringing him back?
I think we can get Two very good WR's from this Draft Bourne is what he is which is ok we need more than ok. I am pretty sure Mayo is not Blind and should be looking to move the Trio of Parker - Thornton and Juju. That is why I think we are seriously double dipping early @ WR. I am going on Record saying Thornton won't make this Team in 2024 what a horrible pick.

A WR who lacks effort. I think we’ve already got at least one of those guys who sees significant playing time.
Guy had over 1000yds and lacked effort after coming back from a year's ban. Ok Jags Mayo better be in on this Ridley will be Pat.

Haven’t watched him enough as he’s with the Jags. Just going by their perception of him which could be unfair.

YES! just imagine Fields QB - MH Jr @ 3 and Ridley in FA.

He's very quick for a Big.

BB absolutely screwed the Pats with the worst 2 WR deals in the league.
We're on the hook for Parker and JSS for $6M and $12M respectively in dead cap in '24.
It's a disaster. No one will trade for those deals, and our ONLY hope is to renegotiate with one of them, and dump the other.

I'd rather keep Parker than JSS, but the latter has 2x the cap hit - and no knee-cap.

To clarify: when I said I believe in Bourne, I wasn't meaning to only bring him back and not invest elsewhere at the position lol

I think he's a piece. One that has WR2 potential. Does that mean he would be that for us next year? Not exactly. Bourne and Douglas to me are the two receivers that I want to see within our top four options at WR next year. I want Juju gone as soon as we can get him off the books, and have Parker and Thorton battling for spots. After that, I want to see us try and get a 1 at WR in FA/trade market if possible, and then spend either the 2nd or 3rd on another WR. Making the group:

FA addition
Bourne
Douglas
Rookie

Parker/Thorton/additional cheaper FA vet battling for remaining spots.

Parker at least will give you those few games per season of brilliance before getting inevitably injured. He'd be great still as a depth WR option.

I’d rather keep JuJu but that is dependent on whether he was dealing with a significant knee issue throughout the season that can recover fro. I can’t stand DeVante Parker. That game where he didn’t take responsibility for his drop was the straw that broke the camels back to me.

But yeah it would be nice to be free of both.

Even if he is "ready" for the season, there's a history of guys coming off those types of injuries not being back to themselves for a year. Lots of guys come back the next year in a clearly reduced state and then year 2 is where they really are "back".

This is over dramatic. On Parker at least.

If we trade Parker, his new team assumes him on a 1 year deal with $3.2M salary guaranteed. Then he'd have a $100K workout bonus and $1.7M per game roster bonuses. The absolute most a team would be paying him would be $5M. And as much as we hate Parker here, 1 year $5M isn't actually bad for him. And that $3.2M guaranteed salary is part of your $6.4M dead cap, so if we trade him, it's only $3.2M in dead money. The new team gets Parker on a year $3.2M worth up to $5M with incentives. That's really not bad for him, again.

On Juju, he does have $12.3M in dead money if cut, but $7M of that is guaranteed salary. That goes to his new team if traded. We also have the option of converting part of the salary to signing bonus before the trade. The new team acquiring him would only be taking on a 1 year deal worth $7M (less whatever we paid down of it). If Juju is actually healthy enough to suit up, I think there's some team out there that would take a flier on him for like 1 year $5M or something.

why would juju agree to move guaranteed money to a signing bonus? The team would need to give him something to sign such a contract.

They would be wouldn't they? That guaranteed money, that would be paid out over the '24 season, would be changed to a signing bonus that would be paid out immediately. He gets paid the same, he just gets the money sooner.

What is ridiculous, is that BB extended Parker despite him not even being worthy of his original contract. If that's not an indictment of the extreme lack of being able to draft and develop WR talent, I don't know what is. I would be curious to know exactly how serious JSS's knee is. If it was just a case of needing a full year back to get to where he was before the injury, then he might prove valuable. Has anyone heard anything definitive on what the actual state of his knee is? I'm just curious to know.

There has been nothing about it since very early last season when it was Breer, I think who said his knee was a mess.

And if it makes it easier for the team to trade him to somewhere he doesn't want to go, he might not want this to happen.

That's fair, I was just thinking about it monetarily.
