What is ridiculous, is that BB extended Parker despite him not even being worthy of his original contract. If that's not an indictment of the extreme lack of being able to draft and develop WR talent, I don't know what is. I would be curious to know exactly how serious JSS's knee is. If it was just a case of needing a full year back to get to where he was before the injury, then he might prove valuable. Has anyone heard anything definitive on what the actual state of his knee is? I'm just curious to know.
The biggest red flag was that the Phins were willing to trade him within the division.

Before we even think about FA we need to cut JC Jackson. Clearing that cap space could be the difference between keeping or losing Owenu. Absolute no brainier.

Now is also the time to lock down Barmore long term, before he makes an all pro team and becomes a $20 million guy.

The FA class won't do our OL or QB situations any good, but we have no excuse not to emerge with a passable #1. I don't foresee a Higgins, Pittman or Evans wanting to come here. Realistically, I think we wind up overpaying for a Ridley or Hollywood Brown type. Maybe a it's little anticlimactic, but that plus Borne, Douglas and a day 2 pick gives us a decent starting point.

I'd consider bringing in Eckler or Barkley just to have a volume safety net target in the backfield.

Best thing we can do for our blocking, besides locking down Owenu and drafting a LT, is to bring in a solid blocking TE and FB. Cinci's Drew Sample and Tennessee's Trevon Wescoe are two unsexy bargains who can help support a young line.

Bottom line, this is not going to be fixed overnight. It's a two year rebuild. The goal right now should be to establish something resembling a professional offense, being patient with out QB development, and looking ahead to 2025 to make the big splash.

Question is who is our Bridge QB to Drake or JJ?

Give me Micheal Pittman as our new number 1.

Have folks really settled on Mapu as a solid starter at safety?
I would say no, but Dugger plays in the middle down in the box a lot; so has/will Mapu..He was coming along towards the end of the year. I would assume (hope) Mayo, Boom etc..will play him mostly at his natural position which is ILB, but also utilize him in other spots as well.

If Mapu primarily plays linebakcer, then we need two safeties: to replace starter Dugger and backup Mills. One should be starting free safety. We should also have a backup a three safety.

Personally, I think that we need to carry 4 safeties: 2 starters, and a backup strong safety and a backup free safety. I've fine with Mapu being the backup strong safety.

And the positions are NOT the same. If you think that they are, then is Mapu a starter? Is he a backup who can be the backup if either of the starting safeties are injured.

The first tackle addition to free agency. 3.5 year starter at RT before he was benched midseason, reportedly largely for disciplinary reasons.

a lot depends on the nature of the disciplinary issues

The Athletic reporting Higgins most likely to be franchised.
