Scratch Cousins off the list

Tbh was leaning towards him as an option for a year or two and we could take MHJ in the draft instead.

I disagree with the notion that you can’t rebuild for the future with an experienced player in specific positions. It’d just depend on the contract they’d accept.

We need to be looking for generational talent in whatever position we draft the first two rounds, that won’t fill all our holes so we’re gonna have to plug those gaps somehow or face being dogshit for another 2-3 years.

How much f'ing money does he and the next 10 generations of his family need?
The sun will collapse on itself and earth destroyed by an asteroid before he runs out of money

Honestly, why would you want him here? especially at his contract level, coming off a season ending injury?

We are building for the future. Not a two year gap plan to be semi-competitive.

Building for the future is what people wanted, what they have been clamoring for, and its what we now have. Old guard gone, new regime in power. Going to have to take the lumps of the full rebuilding process while they find their way. Its going to get uglier before it gets any better. Bringing in a gap player like Cousins will only prolong the length of mediocrity.
I'm with you may man! But I've began to look at the rebuilding a Bit different . I don't particularly think it's going to be a multi year rebuilding process " IF" we hit on the QB.. I'm very encouraged by Houston, a 1st year HC, hit on the QB and has pieces around him. We need to do the same. We just need offensive peices our structure and the leadership on this team as we speak is on defense of course. So we'll see what actually transpires!

So you want a pocket passer to act as a mentor to a dynamic, athletic quarterback in Williams/Maye/Daniels? Not sure i see the benefit.

I would rather let Bailey Zappe take the lumps. Granted he sucks and won't win much, but if the rook is ready to go half way thru the season there's no qb controversy. In addition there is no wasted dead cap for overpaying for Cousins, acts as developmental time for bailey so we have a somewhat seasoned back up with starting experience and finally, most likely guarantees a higher draft pick to accelerate any rebuilding process.
Zapp and Mac both see themselves as starting QBs in the league. They won't be any help to the #3 pick. Granted I agree Zapp should take the lumps., but I don't personally feel he'd do anything to help along the new guy. He believes he is the guy!

People keep talking about him coming off injury but players are recovering pretty well from a torn Achilles and he got injured pretty early in the season not in December so he must be healed by now and on pace to start football activities in a few months

Last I heard he was taking a hometown discount to stay in Minnesota.
Tough injury to come back from unless you are Aaron Rogers.

Bill Belichick who wasn’t willing to pay 25M for the GOAT that was still better than Cousins even a 42 will be somehow willing to pay to get Cousins to Atlanta? Not buying it.

The more likely scenario is cousins will stay put in Minnesota

Makes more sense he has 2 great WRs on the outside and a great TE won't have that set up too many other places.

Sadly, Cousins is above league avg. The state of QB-ing in the league today is a bit sad. There are 32 teams and I’d say that quite a few of them have a worse starter than he…

I’d be more than glad to have him in NE, as I’ve advocated NOT going QB until a few more pieces (especially OL) are added on O. Having said that, now that BB has moved on, I’ve softened on that stance as I doubt Mayo will be able to get this crew to contend for the playoffs in the 2024 season.

Truth is : other than the 8 QBs in action this weekend and a few others (Burrows, for instance), Cousins stacks up quite well. I don’t want him as ‘the answer’ but if it’s Cousins or Mac or Zappe….
To think that 120 plus colleges .. 5-6 qbs a year on each team …thousands pass through every ten years or so … and yet only 5-6 qbs end up being considered good to elite … Cousins is more than “avg” …

They’ll buy in as long as it looks like a winner. With a decent OL in front of Cousins it will be that.
They have an excellent rb as well .

So you're down for QB at 3?

I’m thinking Bills hesitance to spending money on Brady is more in line with his loyalty to the Patriots organization and Kraft as business savvy. He controlled where and who the money went to. I can’t believe it was personal, that’s nonsense. Bills spending in Atlanta, if it ends up being that way, would not, I believe , have anything to do with loyalty with foresight to the future. It would be to beat Shula and win another Super Bowl, win at all costs. That is absolutely not what Bill did here.

Bill might be able to attract marquee defensive agents . Look for Dugger and uche signing there and few more cornerbacks .

With cousins the offense is potent enough - drake london + Bijan Robinson + Kyle pitts + codarelle Patterson.

They have a neat 1st rounder which can be used on a game changing rookie prospect .

I expect them to go aggressive and who knows next year they get justin Jefferson. It's a 3 year window and something similar to Stafford could happen to cousins .
BB is not signing the one dimensional Uche.

Precisely.. so they might go all guns blazi ng for next 3 years and create a rock solid team. I think Bill will probably take a backseat feom draft inputs in first 3 rounds and come back in latter rounds . I expect Patricia to join him in a scouting capacity.

Kirk, "I'll throw it well short of the sticks on 4th down in a critical moment of a playoff game," Cousins.

That single play cooled me off Cousins......

Well, that and his likely 40M+ annual price tag....
