Scratch Cousins off the list

Anyone here hating on Cousins is foolish.
He is the epitome of a durable productive QB. Check his numbers. With a stable team, and a good D, that offense will get you to the playoffs every year. There's a lot more to winning in the playoffs than being a HoF QB.
Cousins would immediately bring stability and character to our entire offense.
He could play 2-3 years and mentor a guy like Nix, or Beck (next year), allowing us to use #1 on MHJ...
Or trade down for either top LT and still get Leggete/Thomas in the 2nd.

Good for him and Bill ... happy for him ... the wins record is what he deserves.
Bill will be happy in Atlanta and hopefully he also finds some beautiful trim.
I will be rooting for him and them ... of course I will just like I did for Brady in Tampa.
The Falcons are not a big deal in Atlanta like the Pats are in NE. If BB lands there it should change that atmosphere.

So true. Never seen a QB who plays as well as he does suck so bad when it comes to crunch time. He is just incapable of winning.

Don't want him but that statement means absolutely nothing.
Kinda like Lamar … until yesterday ?

A LT or WR is what a lot of peeps are hammering for or trade down

I want a QB at 3

Both positions are exceptionally deep on this draft, there are 3 top QB’s and they need to take one of them, especially since Mike Reiss is speculating that they are going to try to rehab Mac Jones career, which, if true, means that Jerod Mayo’s coaching career is already on life support.

Two years of Cousins with a high first round pick as understudy is a better recipe for long term success than throwing that same high first round pick into the fire as a day one starter behind a rebuilding OL with a totally unproven fleet of receivers.

Let Kirk take the lumps during rebuilding, then plug in the QB that’s been learning as his understudy.
Why pay $40 million a year to watch cousins lead a 9-8 team when you can pay $10 to watch Jacoby Brissett lead a 7-10 team?

The difference in cap space pays for most of a #1 WR + a Barmore extension

I fell of the wagon on Mac in Germany... but to be fair, all of NE was excited about him his entire rookie season.
AND - don't forget everyone was hyped after the near-win week 1 vs. Eagles. So, it's not improbable to surmise that with a coach that actually wants you to succeed - maybe he could??
The reports are widespread enough to suggest it's likely that BB really didn't like Mac, and was spurning him to power-trip against Kraft.

All that said. I'd prefer to start fresh. But if they value a LT or WR at #1, and they keep Mac as a bridge - then they HAVE TO sign a good vet to compete, and maybe still draft a 2nd-3rd round QB.
Just can't let Zappe & Mac ruin the room (team) again.

Harbaugh might have the same effect. It is BB versus Harbaugh - we will see where it lands. Harbaugh has been to the Chargers too I read.

I did not see Reiss' speculation - thanks for noting that. It is very hard for me to believe, even though Mac may become serviceable, he is a backup at best. When he is not acting out and panicking, his arm is below average.

Rehabbing Mac reeks of Kraft trying to prove he was right to insist on the Pats keeping Mac and trying to show it was BB's coaching that ruined Mac.

I belive that Harbaugh is due for interview #2 in Atlanta.
