I have. Worked for a Canadian developer w/ more money than God. I was in charge of his FL projects. He sent this millenial bean counter to learn the business. One if his golden boys. Lol

Smart kid but you can't learn land development on the fly, just too complex. At the end of the day, all these business types are interested in is the bottom line. I resigned within a year (not because of the kid, cheap bastard waffled on my bonus). They still made a ton of money.

That's not the situation here. I'm not sure why people believe the Krafts want to personally run the show. They're delegators. Of course they want to establish checks and balances after dealing w/ Bill for 24 years. Can't really blame them for that. It's sound organizational policy.

Initially the Krafts did not delegate with Bill, and not at all with Parcells or Carroll. The Krafts are half delegators.

Kraft noted in his press conference that he did not fully delegate with Bill until after he had won 3 Super Bowls. After Mayo wins a Super Bowl maybe the Krafts will fully delegate. If you believe history, they definitely will not delegate for awhile with Mayo. If you believe what Kraft said at his press conference, he definitely will not fully delegate with Mayo. Kraft will delegate some but how much? Based on the Easterby lady lurking and asking for 2nd hand knowledge about what Bill was doing, it looks like the Krafts are keeping all their fingers in the pie.

You trust RK a lot, you like the way he picked Parcells. Jonathan Kraft didnt even show up for the press conference. How long do you think R Kraft's nap lasted after his Mayo press conference? Power naps at 83 years old are amazing. Grandpa runs the Patriots - here we go. Weeeeeeeeee.

Robert didn't pick Parcells. He was already under contract with the team when he bought the team.

Who cares what Jon's doing?

It is a joke. Venecol said he liked RK because he picked Parcells. Everytime Venecol defends Grandpa Kraft I remind him that RK was successful in picking Parcells, like Venecol stated. It is a joke.

Are you a woman?
I was president of two organizations in the past and my experience was that the female board members were more reliable than some of the males. When I asked for volunteers to do a job there were many times where one of the men would say, "I'll take care of that" and wouldn't, which would be a real problem. If one of the women volunteered to do a job it got done every single time.

The obsession with Jonathan Kraft here and elsewhere is very strange to me. Seemingly based on nothing but media rumor and speculation. Did we also trust what the media was feeding us during Deflategate? Maybe we should reserve judgment until we start seeing results.

Was Robert grooming 'em back in '07?
"Unlike everyone else in my organization, you don't have to call me Mr. Kraft. Call me Thunderstick"

Hope Mayo didn't get any coaching "tutelage" from Ime Udoka during his brief stay in in Boston or this could be a short collaboration.

Jon Kraft owns the Patriots. Jon Kraft represents the Patriots at various NFL governing panels.

If you do not understand why people care about what the Patriots owner does, I can't help you.

So why the hate?

The old man is the figurehead so, yeah, he's going to be there for stuff like the BB firing and Mayo introduction press conferences. Jon's been the day-to-day guy for a while now and rarely (if ever) does pressers. It's not a big deal.

Ime "Smooth Operator" Udoka

Hide your BFFs when that guy comes around

Relax people. Rome wasn't built in a day.

This is more like the Roman Empire setting up shop in Constantinople after the sack of Rome. But again, wasn't done in a day.

I think Grandpa Kraft's nickname is Thunder. Thunderstick is a name reserved for his Asian friends, and I know a lot about that.

Rome was already built and it was magnificent.

I'd settle for the

the Byzantine Empire won a couple of Super Bowls.....i'm good with that.

I certainly don't trust all those articles. I just wonder how they report things that are said. Those aren't speculations from disgruntled staffers, essentially unprovable. When you state someone SAID something, it's a different thing.

I'm also fairly certain that, whether there's any interference or not, we'll never hear about it until people start getting fired.

I watched it yesterday, Kraft was asked directly about why Jonathan wasn't there and he addressed it:

Q: Robert, curious, where is Jonathan in all this? Why wasn't he present and participating last week and now today and how would you describe Jonathan's role in the football operation moving forward?

RKK: Well, I know Jonathan had planned to be here today. He really is running all of the Kraft Group companies, and something has come up today that was really important. But he really serves as -- he's like an equal partner to me in the running of the operations strategically. He's not involved in the day-to-day operations. He's helping me on an overall basis in the ownership position and would have been here, but one of the other companies had an issue that was critical, and he's dealing with that.

I saw that. Very interesting.

I think "day to day" needs to be qualified.

The Jonathan comment is different than what I heard which was RKK has stepped back from the "day-to-day" and Jonathan is now day to day.

For context, BB ran things day to day but admin and other crap can also be represented as "day to day". It also could mean during the BB era Robert and Jonathan only get involved when it's something BB needs support of.

My belief (need to confirm) is Glaser is now the "day to day" and Jonathan and Bob are her escalation points.

I don’t really get all the kerfuffel
1.timing:
1. Wickersham reported about her promotion a week ago.
2. The Krafts waited a week or more to announce her promotion right after Mayo's introduction as the head coach was finished.
3. She will be one of Mayo's direct advisors. Why dodge announcing her?
4. This has Jack Easterby written all over it.
If they had announced this prior to Jerod; the mediots and board-troglodytes w torches would have all screamed ‘she is the GM’ and half the conference would have been saying no. Announcing afterwards seems to make it clear she is support staff and not ‘direct’ oversight.

2. Title
Whatever. Call her EVP of Social Interactions for all I care. Some folks here think they can interpret what she will do based on the title. I have a title and a 2-page duty description. The only duty in there that defines what I actually do is the last line: “Other duties as assigned. “. To me, this title change she is just being refocused away from the non-football ops.
BL: She is a lawyer and is going to do legal things as RK directs.

3. Experience
She has been doing legal football things since 2007. 17 years. There is no way she doesn’t know enough by now to do whatever RK is asking.

At the end of the day I think some folks are either listening to mediots to get over-excited or just spinning themselves up.
