At first I thought he wouldn’t be OK with it, now I think he would agree to it, he’s 71 years old, his kids are on the staff, why not just spend the next couple years coaching, he has said a couple times he can’t do it all.
I hope so because it would be great to keep him as the coach. Bring in some innovative offensive minds and let Bill do what he does best, coach. I think him just being able to concentrate only on coaching is a huge plus plus and a total win for the team.

Not by themselves. As demonstrated by an excellent defensive team with a 4-13 record.
All the serious contenders this season have good to great defenses.

The Browns are there by defense and competent QB play.

Bring Mcdaniels back, Obreins offense looks outdated.

We disagree.

Kraft is on record saying he was making Brady contract decisions
That is true Kraft has said that but personally I think if Bill said to Kraft we need to sign Brady for three years 35 million a year, I think Kraft would’ve said OK, in other words I think Kraft was backing Bill and taking the heat.

Living in Atlanta I’ll say this:

Atlanta fired Arthur Smith, and Bill is the name being MENTIONED EVERYWHERE down here that Blank wants.

I hope he calls Kraft on a burner and says “I’d give you a 2nd rd pick” and it gets worked out.

Bill needs to move on, Pats need new voice, AND Bill could make the Falcons better.

According to Steve Ballesteri who reports for this site, a 3 year deal was agreed upon and Kraft said no.

Belichick obviously said he's open to a GM because almost nothing would change.

Every single GM in the NFL confers with their coach except for Snyder's outfit in Washington.

Belichick has a $25m contract. Why would Smith pay that when he could get Kraft to pick up all of it?
Why would he give up a 2nd rounder when he can get him for free?

He is leaving.

The way that he left the field yesterday said it all. This press conference before the rooster crows is also indicative that BB does not want to make a big production out of 1 person leaving. Team first.
Why do this conference then?

Because I doubt Atlanta would be Bill’s 1st choice, and Blank would have to compete with likely at least 2 teams in Wash,LA

Not too familiar with their situation. Who is the QB there? How is the roster? Not sure Belichick wants to go to a team that is also devoid in talent.

He always does it annually, this one was 13 min and took no follow-ups, sure looked to be posturing “I’m under contract etc.”

Bill relinquishing his GM duties is one thing but I think that there so much other problem.

I think the offensive system is outdated and too complicated and is not tailored to modern NFL QB. I think it has been proven by now that only Tom Brady could run this system.

This system ask too much of the QB pre snap and modern NFL QBs now are more athlete. We need to allow the QB to play faster and not having to think at everything during 40s before the ball is snap.
Great point, and why I don't want either BoB or Josh at the helm.

When Josh got fired in Vegas, Adams (I think it was him) said that the other teams basically knew what they were doing on every play.

Roster is actually decent, lots of young talent esp on offense. BUT…no QB.

Maybe Atlanta could take Pennix? Still I don’t think Bill wants to go anywhere that doesn’t have a QB or is trying to get their guy in the draft. Only place I think he’d be okay with that is here in NE.

If Atlanta isn't Bill's first choice, he's not going to agree to be traded there.

The new GM should work in tandem with the coach on roster construction philosophy. The GM and bill will have different philosphies. It won’t work.

They were not excellent though. They just gave up 180 rushing yards to 1 RB on 37 carries (I.e. everyone knew they were running).

They got spanked by every good offense.
Funny, because I just read that the top QBs facing the Patriots this year were considerably worse in those games than the rest of the year.
And this is a Pats team that lost its #1 CB, had its #2 CB out for several games, and lost its best DE.
