It's easy, and only takes a few moments. If Fields is your franchise QB, you would need to extend his contact for 3 years. His current contract is for 1 year plus an option year, perfect for a transitional QB. If he is better than that in 2024, we can THEN trade Fields or our pick.Fields is more talented than most of the QBs we're talking about. Certainly more than Maye. He throws a better ball, is more compact, more athletic, can see downfield pretty well.
Gross. Do not want Fields. But since you know that the Bears are going with Harrison, you might as well let them pick him. If they pick Williams, make a deal with Fields.
My sense of the level of talent of the QBs goes like this:
Top starters/difference makers:
1. Caleb Williams
1A. Justin Fields
-------------------
50/50 bust potential
3. Drake Maye
3A. Michael Penix
-------------------
X Factor (could be incredibly good but has high bust potential)
X. J Daniels.
Depends what QB... I was in disbelief Caleb Williams crying on his mom's shoulder.... Let's see what happens in tomorrows championship game and if penixs stock risesHow many times do you expect us to pick top 3? Now is the exact time to pick a QB. We are at rock bottom. What great vet is out there? We aren’t contending with Cousins, he’ll just get us to mediocrity.
Yes, it’s risky, but now is when we need to take our shot at QB.
If Chicago takes a QB, they might prefer to clear the decks for the kid. Fields is also up for renewal this year, and so they'd be incentivized to take the best pick they can get for him.If Fields is your franchise QB, you would need to extend his contact for 3 years. In any case, if you get Fields, you still need a solid backup.

My personal opinion is that CHI won't trade Fields, certainly not for a 2nd. Why not wait until camp?
Trade Belichick to the Commanders and swap picksSo we can’t drop lower than the 3rd pick. What’s the scenario for us to move up to #2?
No way I’d do this for Williams. In Rich Hill’s draft value chart, pick 1 is worth 1000 points and pick 3 is worth 514, so you want them to give up 3 and the equivalent of pick 3 or 4 in the first for a 6’1” QB who sobbed on his mommy’s arms after a tough loss? Hard pass. That goes for trading up to 1 for Maye as well.Idk there’s many ways we could go about this. Washington is almost certainly going QB here. We could trade for or sign a veteran and draft Marvin Harrison jr or trade up to 1 and draft Caleb and Chicago pairs marv with fields
Not saying thats what I would do. But it is a plausible scenario if you don’t want to givenuo extra picks.Trade Belichick to the Commanders and swap picks
Fields went before Mac. Clearly that was the right decision.Bears dont have a good track record when it comes to qbs. They went with Mitch over Mahomes and it didn’t work out. They did the same thing with fields 3 years ago
right, we need picks and not a QB.
We're not giving up a top 35 pick to move up two spots. If the bears would swap first round picks with us then they’d want some extra compensation.
The team needs a QB. You're going to save your picks and not have a QB?
I said trade a 2nd for Fields. Why on Earth would we give up pick 35?
In case you haven't noticed, the pats are already in position to get. QB.
Drake Maye? But since you know that the Bears are going with Harrison, you might as well let them pick him. If they pick Williams, make a deal with Fields.

We aren’t getting a 1st for Bill. The likely hood is that he’s let go this week without any compensation.Getting a first rounder for Belichick would be incredible.
Getting say Nabors, Higgins and a QB would go a long way to building a good offense again,
I said trade a 2nd for Fields.
Fields is a QB
