No more excuses for the Zapster or receivers. No rain in the forecast. DD and Boutte will probably be back. Thankfully I don't have to wait that long wallowing in this Pats misery until the next game... unless they end up getting blown out by Trubic Hare.

That's a high scoring game! May break ratings history. I wonder what's the NFL record for the lowest point total in a season?
If the Patriots don’t score another point this season, it would still only be the 3rd worst PPG post merger. The 1977 Bucs’ 7.4 PPG prorated from 14 to 17 games would be 126, and the Patriots already have 148.

Maybe we are misjudging Bill Belichick.
The man has forgotten more about football than we might ever hope to know.
Surely he knows this team sucks , Mac sucks, Zappe sucks and there is no future QB around here to build a team around. He can't be this blind to the disaster that has befallen the Patriots. He realized about 6 games ago that you can't make chicken salad out of chicken ****. He knows he has failed and figures the only way out is to tank the season and start over with a number one (or as close to number one as possible) draft pick. But tanking isn't ethical is it? So how do you look like your trying to actually win games without actually doing it?
You field a competent defense (one that's held the opposition to 26 pts in the last 3 games), knowing it would take your offence at least 6 games to score 26 points themselves. Bill is deliberately tanking while making it look like he isn't
Bill is still the evil genius we all came to know and respect and admire......

well this is what I'd truly like to believe, sadly, I think it's the opposite. but........

Don’t be a wet blanket.

Worst offense & 1st ranked (not best) defense. Wild..

Well that's what happens when you invest all your capital into the defensive side of the ball.

It's nice and all but Bill should've been also taking high picks on offense. Basically he took that side of the ball for granted.

He even short changed Brady for years. it's just Brady was a generational player. And yet somehow Bill didn't see it at the end.

Get the terrible towel out! How about a moral victory but another loss to solidify Draft position.

If Cards/NE are tied, NE gets the higher pick. If Bears/NE tie, Bears get the higher pick. But the Bears have four wins. And Bears/Cards still play one another. I think you have to hope for a Cards win in that one.
It's based on Strength of Schedule which changes every week depending on which teams lose and win. 4 weeks ago the Pats had the hardest SOS so AZ would have picked ahead of them, now it is the opposite, at the end of the season it may change again. Can't rely on the SOS, just need to lose every game.
We are closer to #1 pick and Carolina than the 4 win teams like the Bears so the Carolina Strength of schedule for #1 is more important. Panthers are .525 and Pats are .527, basically tied right now if Panthers can grab 1 win and Pats lose out they could have #1.

Interesting in the Bears/Cards game, the Bears have every incentive to lose, it helps their draft position, gets the Cards 1 win further away from the Panthers pick the Bears own. A Chicago loss could get them the 1 and 3 picks in the draft vs 1 and 9.
Also, Kyler Murray should be able to beat the Bears.

I wish BB was grooming one of his Son's for OC we wouldn't suffer on that Side of the ball like we are.

Remember when the Steelers vs the Pats was the game of the year?

This NFL is watered down.

Can we just plan to trade for Browning right now! QB1 for 2024 - 2036
Look, he has the name to continue the Patriot legacy... (1 syllable first name, with 2 syllable last name starting with B)
Drew Bledsoe
Tom Brady
Jake Browning

Steelers fans liked to chirp about asterisks for our titles... but I count 6 asterisks for their own titles.

First 4 were steroid aided. I read somewhere that Terry Bradshaw admitted he was on roids and so was his team. Steelers fans say steroids were legal at the time... no not the way athletes used them to improve performance. That was never legal.

They shouldn't have even been there for #4... Mike Renfro's catch in the corner of the end zone in the AFCCG was a TD not an incomplete pass. Would have been an easy overturn today with video review. Swann had a big one in #3 which also would have been an overturn with video review.

#5... the officiating. Nuff said.

#6... no block in the back call on Harrison's TD. Happened close to the 30. Also doesn't look to me like Holmes got both feet down on that TD.

6 asterisks and 0 legit titles. I think that's how this works?

So, looks like they'll have to activate Hasty or bring up Harris from PS to cover for Rham.
That could be at least 1 interesting thing to watch for. (And hopefully Pop can be back)

Hopefully Pop will be shut-down for the rest of the year, same as Judon & Stevenson.
