The difference is that Bryant does his job correctly, he's just not very good. JC and Jack may be doing things they should not be. Bill is an authoritarian and will bench the better player for the worse player if the worse player is "doing his job".
I will never have a problem with that thinking.

No need to empower Sidney Wicks and Curtis Rowe

If they end up with a top 5 pick, it will be the right time to move on from him.

I think it is the right time to move on from him no matter what the pick is. This team is going into major rebuild mode no matter if he is here or someone else it. They have either the most cap space or the second most. They are going to have to rebuild much of the team.

I just don't see the point to rebuild the team for the system of a 72 year old head coach who runs his system different than most of the league.

People forget that when Carroll left, Belichick had to turn over so many players and players like McGinest and Law had to relearn how to play their positions because they were used completely differently (Law went from a man CB to a zone CB and McGinest went from his hand in the dirt to standing). Belichick had to remake the team in his image and away from Pete's image. The next head coach will likely have to do the same unless they promote Mayo and more of the same.

JC Jackson starts the week he was signed and took snaps away from Jalen Mills, but now benched for "performance issues". Yet Myles Bryant continues to play AND took his place when he's constantly giving up yards and TD's. This is the epitome of dysfunction and this **** has got to stop.
This Idiot said JC sucks and is Toast and the Homers looked at me like y this.

I have often wondered if there was a conversation between Bill and Kraft this offseason where Kraft told Bill that the experiment with Patricia was bad for Mac and that Bill essentially had to go get BOB and go back to the offensive system that Mac can succeed in, because that's what Mac wants. And Bill probably said something like - "Ok, I will do that this year, but we will live or die by the results."

The best solution was for Belichick to trade himself to an interested team of his choice, but that ship has obviously sailed and the chance to rob someone has passed.

In my heart of hearts, I believe Bill was done with Mac at the end of last year. He knew what he was

If Belichick didn't think Mac was the guy at that point, it is even more damning for him than if he agreed that he put Mac in a bad situation. If Belichick knew he had a major deficiency at QB, it was on him to surround him with the best players so they minimize the negative impact of Mac. That means you get the best o-line to block and give him time and allow them to run the ball. That means you give Mac a third down back that he has an outlet to dump off the ball and let the third down back do the heavy lifting to get the yards. And stuff like that.

My point is a firing would look horrible for his legacy and hall of fame bid.
He is scratching and crawling.
My recollection is Shula was fired and Lombardi was too. Great coaches rarely got to retire. Bill is going to have no problem with getting in the hall of fame.

Just here to see how many times someone blames the last int on mac

Also...I would love to blow this whole team up...but all signs still point to the same system staying in place w Mayo possibly being the head coach, so what is the point. Complete tone deaf organization.
That's on JJSS. I will blame Mac for blowing that 4th down conversion earlier in the game when he was under no pressure, had Thornton at least 2-3 yards ahead of his man deep downfield and Mac just totally choked on the throw. He could have run for a first down too since a running lane opened way up. Just pathetic. Likely cost NE at least 3.

I think so, too. Hence the rumors of Bill sniffing around about his trade value. Probably happened in January. But Kraft put an end to it and handcuffed Bill to Mac for another year because the media and fans all said Mac is actually good and Patricia just made him look bad and BOB would fix it. Obviously no way to know that that happened but that's a scenario I can see having occurred in my mind. Would also explain why Bill wouldn't have worked very hard to get a great second QB he could turn to if it didn't work out, because he was told "Mac is the guy, period" by ownership. It's almost spiteful, because having no good backup QB means that if Mac isn't good then the ship sinks and it's Kraft's fault - in Bill's mind.

bottom three in AFC in points scored and points allowed....

What I mean is the unknown of what happens with a new HC, staff and front office.

I sure hope Bill isn't the HC and the entire staff and front office is cleared out. The franchise needs a reset.

What's the demeanor among the fans?
honestly....it's apathy...crowd was dead

He needs to retire NOW - Each and every loss in a lost season only makes him look worse and exposed as a fraud and those who think hes still the best coach of all time (laughing) are starting to question that.
