PostGame Thread Official Post-Game Thread: Patriots Lose to Commanders 20-17

Washington played better and deserved to win.

Mac Jones is in the final stretch as Patriots QB. I hope.

A very minor and little thing: the lack of a facemask call on the second to last drive was huge. A facemask there puts the Patriots in Washington territory and it likely enables Mac not to rush AND panic.

It was a huge non-call.

If you're going to play the ref screwed up game, Strange got away with holding on that Stevenson TD run.

The defense, despite all the injuries, are still at least OK. Bill shows his value there by helping that unit weather the storm despite the issues.

The offense is just a wreck and I don't blame BOB. The playcalling looked good early, but the execution was up and down. When Mac looked like he was teetering on turnover territory, they started turtling and going back to the safe screens to keep him from blowing it. Obviously there have been injuries here as well, and they aren't the most talented unit in the first place, but man they should be better than this.

Mac has the tools and he shows flashes at times but I find it hard not to place the blame on him most of the time. I don't really have reason to think Zappe or Grier would be better, but I've really just grown tired of watching this song and dance. Even if they still lose, at least it'd be a half season of losing differently and you could maybe hope for some progression from the next guy over time.

Yeah I think I’m sold on giving Zappe a few reps now. He is also bad but expectations are lower so I won’t cringe with him under center like I do with Mac and who knows they might build his value up to get something for him this offseason…

Mac is not a terrible QB (not amazing, not HoF level...just not bad). He's been put in a situation we used to make fun of other teams for with their young QB's. That's on Bill for not beefing up the O-line and giving Mac no one to throw to.

Yup. I predicted a 20-17 win... but I picked the wrong team!

The Patriots continue their run of ineptitude this season, they are now 1-7 when the other team scores 20 points or more!

If we aggregate this year with last season they are a combined 2-16 when the opposition scores 20 points or more against them.

Holding calls happen every single play.

I'm talking about an obvious facemask where the guy's head jerked backward during a run. Right after they called a facemask on Schooler that didn't happen on the replay

I just watched Joshua Dobbs, who the Vikings just acquired, drive his team down the field for a TD to beat the Falcons. Why can’t we get a guy who does that?

I've been loving Dobbs since I saw him play on the Titans.

I think it is time to tank...and possibly fire Belichick...it might be a good time to do so...allowing him to win 17 more games elsewhere and for us to go into a full blown rebuild...

I love BB, but don't want to see him pile up losses while we rebuild....
