This is a terrible take by Phil.

We didn't lose this game because we don't have anyone with a game breaking ability, we lost because all game Mac was overthrowing open receivers, throwing behind open receivers, throwing ducks, making bad reads, all resulting in killing any kind of sustained drives.

With every passing game and every loss it just shows more and more that Belichick has been a fraud of a 'genius' for 2 decades and rode the coattails of Brady and Mac Jones is going to be a career journeyman QB who after this season is over will only see the field in practice,when a team's starting QB goes down injured or in the event of a blowout - both worthless and need to be gone in February or soon after.

Belly aching about a VG, yet unspectacular J Meyers isn’t the way.

This team is hitting rock bottom and needs a few special players to get you big plays at key times.

Reorganizing the NE might be painful. But it’s necessary. I’d rather lose in order to win than be .500 or so for the next decade.

JuJu just sped up the inevitable. I’m no longer sad about losing Meyers. He’d just prolong the agony if he was here with a couple more wins to make them a little less than mediocre. It’s time to draft wisely and spend wisely to rebuild the 6x Super bowl winning franchise.

I was rooting in the back of my head for a loss but it still sucks seeing yet another Mac Jones GWD get thrown out the window by his supporting cast. That's how his career started here and it's all we'll really remember about it when it's done.

Ross, I’ve always considered you one of the more optimistic posters on here.

Your OP is a great indicator of how bad things are right now.

The defense, despite all the injuries, are still at least OK. Bill shows his value there by helping that unit weather the storm despite the issues.

The offense is just a wreck and I don't blame BOB. The playcalling looked good early, but the execution was up and down. When Mac looked like he was teetering on turnover territory, they started turtling and going back to the safe screens to keep him from blowing it. Obviously there have been injuries here as well, and they aren't the most talented unit in the first place, but man they should be better than this.

Mac has the tools and he shows flashes at times but I find it hard not to place the blame on him most of the time. I don't really have reason to think Zappe or Grier would be better, but I've really just grown tired of watching this song and dance. Even if they still lose, at least it'd be a half season of losing differently and you could maybe hope for some progression from the next guy over time.

Bill was the same coach he was back when he took over in 2000. He just had a 20 year break when Tom Brady emerged by accident. He has now been back on schedule since 2020.

It's hard to know who to blame.
Obviously Mac is not great. But he wasn't horrible by himself. A lot of stupidity, a lot of bad plays on defense.
They just get lazy in the middle of the game - always.

The Pats need that field commander in the secondary. They don't have it and it shows.

Though, it won't matter much until the Refs start calling the games evenly. The FLOP that was calling a hold was ridiculous. They missed a Facemask that took Douglas down. They Missed soooo many blocks in the back that allowed Washington to gain extra yards.
