We aren't talking about a few games. The haters want to throw out all these "without Brady" numbers. Meh. From my point of view, they went all in to win thru 2019, and 2020 was a reset, plus covid, so throw that out. 2021 made the playoffs, fine, keep going. '22 was a mess, a step in the wrong direction. Coupled with the horrendous start this year and there are and should be rumblings. Now, I agree, the man has earned the right to fix it. If it continues or continued in the wrong direction thru the end of '23, then there should be a discussion if he's the right man going forward. There's no way you take a 6 time Super Bowl champion and fire him mid-season, regardless of how bad it gets, I could care less what the talking heads and haters say.
I do think there's a point when you look at the man and ask, is he still Bill Belichick, legend and GOAT? Is he the same guy who drafts Gronk and the other TE not named in the same draft? Gets Randy Moss for a 4th round pick? Is he the same guy who got in Bill Polian's head so bad that they changed the rules? ("you wanna change the rules, change 'em!) Is he the guy that got Mike Martz to play right into his hand in SB36? Is he the same guy that was in Rex Ryan's head so bad that he talked about not kissing the rings? Is he the guy that Sean McVey was star struck by at the Super Bowl? Time will tell.
