If this is Bill’s last season as HC, who do you want as a replacement?

I know he’s flirted with an NFL return in the past just not sure how serious he is on leaving Michigan but Jim Harbaugh would be on my list. No super bowls or natl titles yet but he’s still been a consistent winner at every coaching stop.

I would love to have the Lions OC

First of all, his creativity is clear, Lions seems to have a new wrinkle every week. Then he makes people perform, not too long ago Detroit used to be the place where players' career go to die, but now, seems like every draft pick florishes and even Goff looks more and more like an actual Franchise QB.

Bring him - and Just to be safe, ask him who is responsible for drafting skill position players and get him too

He will be the hottest head coaching candidate.

I would very much like to throw everyone out that has any stink on them from this year, but I think that Mayo has been promised the keys to the kingdom.

That's what he says now. We'll see what he says when his son comes into the league.
Not everyone who excels in college wants to be, or is cut out to be, an NFL coach. Hell, Nick Saban tried it and quit after one season.

Plus being Coach Prime gives him recruiting advantages at the college level he can't really utilize in the NFL.

Insert random nerdy offensive mind from the Shanahan/Reid/McVay tree to be tied to a new quarterback.

Nobody tied to Bill, sorry Jerod but firing Bill and leaving all of Bills guys in place won't fix the problem it also leaves the new quarterback at risk of a rotating cast of characters at OC.

Jim Mora

I'm more worried with the GM chain of command to be honest. Any coach with 2 active neurons can at least not screw things royally up with a decent team.

I was talking with a friend who is a packers fan and he says they're basically 13 years drafting defense and had 2 good years or so. That's the level of setback we are talking here under the wrong direction.

What I most want is a Steelers WR scout.
The Steelers WR scout is a guy with a roulette wheel. He spins it, lands on a receiver, and picks them. There's no mystery to it. The only key is how many times you want to mosy on up to the roulette wheel. The Steelers do it over and over again.

This is only last 10 years:

2014 3rd rd. Dri Archer
2014 4th rd. Martavis Bryant
2015 3rd rd. Sammy Coates
2017 2nd rd. JuJu Smith-Schuster
2018 2nd rd. James Washington
2019 3rd rd. Diontae Johnson
2020 2nd rd. Chase Claypool
2021 2nd rd. Pat Friermuth TE
2022 2nd rd. George Pickens

This is the Patriots:

2019 1st rd. N'Keal Harry
2022 2nd rd. Tyquan Thornton

9 picks for the Steelers, only 2 for the Patriots. Each and every year the Steelers are expending a first 3 round pick on a WR. They have their hits (JuJu, Johnson, Claypool, Pickens) and they have their misses. They draft better than most of the league by hitting on 43% of their picks, while the league is at 33%. But it's not a totally spotless record.

Just use more picks! That's their method.

BTW, their current WR coach was Tyquan's college WR coach.

The thing is, Bill is not really doing anything different than he always did. Low cost throw away receviers, lower round oline draft, go big on defense, scrap up some backs.....for 20 years this was what the pats MO was. The only problem now is you dont have a QB that can make it work anymore

What receivers were available to us? And why were we complaining about the spending spree in free agency just last year?
As for O-line, we've probably spent more on it than the vast majority of the league in the last couple of years. 1st rounder Cole Strange, 4th-5th guys like Andrews, Mafi and Sow. Hines last year. There's an investment there. We've also spent a lot on backs, from 1st rounder Sony Michel to Damien Harris, Rham Stevenson, Kevin Harris and Pierre Strong. 2 of them busted. But the investment is there.

Some were recommending Ken Dorsey last week. Bills fans would love to offload him to the Patriots!

I don't know who for sure I would want at head coach, but I think I want Brian Griese at OC. He is the QB coach in San Fran and pretty much the defacto OC. He is doing wonders with Purdy. I would want him to develop the QB here.

Him, Detroit’s Lions Oc, or Miami’s OC.
Houston’s OC deserves a interview as does Brian Johnson with the Eagles.

That and there was another very big difference. His draft picks in his early years made impacts and the Pro Bowl/All Pro. His last 10 drafts have made very little to no impact.
