i think the best case scenario for patriots is if jones plays well. Cunningham maybe a one shot wonder or a small sized success but wont be a long term solution yet .
Its also unfortunate though not undeserved the pressure that is on mac additionally by making Cunningham the backup .
It is surprising that Thornton and Reagor have jumped Boutte. I wonder if Bouttee reverted to form; he has had a horrible relationship with multiple sets of college coaches.
our WR is looking worser today , bourne is inconsistent and prone for a key drop or two. parker has been wildly disappointing. dont know what thorton and reagor are going to do. has to be some 3TE run heavy game plan.
I’m sure they’ll try to shop Mac if they want to move on from him… Lance got the 49ers a fourth round pick and he’s done nothing in the NFL. I think they can get a third or better for Mac.

I think it is more about roles. They view Boutte as playing the same "role" as Bourne and Parker, and those guys are both healthy - whereas Thornton and Reagor are both speed merchants and in a bit of a different class.

I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago. Troy was a great Patriot and receiver (and more!), but this certainly does not look like a well-coached WR room.

While I, like most everyone else, assume the season is over, it's really not. We're 1-1 in the division and stranger things have happen. Injuries happen to all teams and there's quite a bit of football left. JS.
So no Zappe or Grier available if Mac falls apart?!
Question - does this mean that if Mac gets benched and our WRs continue to suck that Malik Cunningham will be expected to both throw the ball AND receive the football from himself?
