Would KC give us Mahomes and Kelce if we promised to take their two annoying women too?

I would go for that. But if the Chiefs require the Pats to take Mahomes' brother too, I'm out. That is too much to take on for just Mahomes and Kelce.

And Jackson

Edit: we'd be getting fleeced, no deal

He doesn’t win. Until he does all the rest is just window dressing.
So what are you giving up for Lamar Jackson and his career 48-17 (74%) record?

We are, legitimately, a couple Chiefs threads and games from Taylor Swift taking over for Lily.

He’s muddying up his argument right now.
Something along the lines of: "Why even come to this forum to discuss Bill's record if it isn't positive? Why have any discussion about the team if it isn't sunshine and rainbows?"

N'Keal Harry
Those skills have not eroded. He's consistently been horrible at developing WRs since day one. Nothing there has changed, improved or gotten worse at all.

Have you been watching this team? I swear to Good Christ, people have blinders on. They can't move the ball more than once or twice a game, no one is ever open, the coach hasn't beaten a playoff team since 2019 - what ****ing team have people been watching to think they're "two players" away? away from what?
8-9? Getting blown out 42-14 in the wild card round? Did you watch last season? They are 4-8 since the bye week last season. Matt Patricia directed the offense to more points/game than Bill O'Brien. They just lost Gonzalez and Judon. It's ok to admit it, Bill the GM and Bill the Coach have run Krafty Bob's team into the ****ter since he kicked Brady to the curb - not that the 2019 team was anything special. That team had crap on offense as well and it took Brady to lift them to the 12-4 record. Without him you're looking at another sub .500 season.
Look, we all hope they can improve but you have to be realistic. This team is miles away from competition in the AFC, miles away.

2 players away? Lol.

In addition to QB and WR, this team is poor at OL, MLB and in need of a #2 CB to pair with Gonzalez whenever he returns. Jonathon Jones should not be playing on the outside when he returns. Now RB is looking like a problem as well with Rham looking like Eddy Lacey.

Coaching staff is another problem.

Do some of you guys watch any games other than the Pats? It's amazing how some on here match up the Pats roster favorably with others across the league.

At the moment, I have little interest in 2024. There seems to be little interest in 2023, other than hoping for a high draft choice and few of us homers.

I guess that we need a poll on who wants to just give up on this year and who wants to trade for players that might put us in contention to have 7-10 wins.

LET'S BE MORE CLEAR
Are you really saying that a NFL quality starting RT isn't available for a 1st round draft choice? What about a WR? What about a backup QB? If you think that players COULD be available, then the question IS NOT whether we can compete, but rather, on whether we are willing to pay the price.

Isn't the question really about "overpaying" and having no guarantee of success (as if there is ever a guarantee on a trade).
Name the players.

Because 2 OTs got huge contracts in FA this year, $90m guaranteed, and they are both abysmally awful. That's not what we want.

Tee Higgins, fine, pay him $20m.

You're going to trade for one? Who?

AJ Brown and Tyreek Hill weren't coming here.

Also, I am NOT in favor of tanking. I am in favor of getting rid of Mac Jones after the season. Perhaps this season if Purdy gets hurt and SF wants to give us a 3rd for him.

OL has a lot of players who would look good with a mediocre QB. We are fine on the OL, could draft a tackle.

We have plenty of CBs. Jack Jones, Gonzalez, Marcus Jones, Jon Jones, Wade, Mills, Bryant, this is enough.

2 players.

Let's suspend the pingpong banter. Are you saying that Bill is at this point in time a successful GM who deserves to keep his job? If so, what evidence can you offer in the time frame from Brady's departure (or a year or so before) until now in support of this view?
He rebuilt this team with no holdovers other than Andrews and we've stockpiled a lot of talent. We failed to draft the QB we needed, and the GM has failed at bringing in a top WR, but these are things that can happen at those 2 positions.

This is where I am at. We are bottoming out at this point. The offense has gotten worse each week and the defense has lost key pieces and now our two best players, likely for the season. The drafting down the stretch in the Brady era snowballed into what we saw his last year or two and the last few years post Brady. Two draft picks since 2017 have earned second contracts. Wise and Bentley. Two serviceable players but not difference makers. Hell the 2019 and 2020 drafts produced two starters in Dugger and Onwenu and a situational pass rusher in Uche. Bill just keeps investing on defense and bargain hunting on offense and we now have an offense that almost 80% of the drives end in a punt. 80%!

Can someone give me an example of a QB who was "hurt" by bad coaching, but who was resurrected elsewhere and became good?

Unless people are saying QBs are permanently ruined by bad coaching, I'd say it's more likely wqe're just flat out speaking about bad QBs who were always going to be bad regardless.

Do I need to go back to Jim Plunkett to find an example?

In 99% of the examples we see with a bad coaching/young QB mix, the QB never goes on to play well anywhere, which means he was either ruined (which is a curious notion) or else was always bad regardless.
