QBs scramble for first downs all the time, every week. There's nothing special about Mahomes doing it, yet they blow their load about it as if he dodged 100 missiles. At least some of Josh Allen's or Lamar Jackson's scrambles are impressive if they're hurdling guys & whatnot, but that's not what happens here.

You are right. IIRC it took Tom 4 SB wins for analysts to start seriously entertaining him as the GOAT. In contrast people were talking about Manning and Rodgers being in that category at different points at which both of them only had one.
