Marcus will play slot cb on defense. We don't want him ever playing outside based on preseason. He will play a lot of sts as returner where he excels.Good post, question though. Where does Marcus fit in this rotation? He was promising last season.. I actually like what he brought as a Scat back on offense as well. His speed is elite. Jon was very good at outside corner last season. He just had some issues with bigger WRs.. he excels against the Waddle and hill types..
Do you wish they threw the book at him? 47 other states they would have had a discussion with him and confiscated the gun. No press no nothing. There’s a medium between decades in prison and 48 hours of community service.
I mean, how can we know for sure those two loaded guns registered to Jackeson Jones are even his?Do you wish they threw the book at him? 47 other states they would have had a discussion with him and confiscated the gun. No press no nothing.
Teflon Jack.Guess what? I don't f'n care.
It helps the team
There is. Both in fact.Surprised there is no type of probation/community service/training/etc required. Jack must be over the moon right now.
Have somebody else pack for you. Gives you an alibi. Also gives them a chance to set you up. Roll the dice, how good are your good friends?Crap, I was planning on packing for my next flight.
She offered a plea deal: drop the charges and we don’t set a precedent in court that throws out your gun laws entirely.BOOOM. Guy Fieri from the top rope! That poor DA never had a chance. She is my new favorite Masshole.
Jones and the Pats would fight it given that nfl players with gun charges weren't suspended. Quiennen Williams was arrested for having a gun in airport and never got suspended. So ****dell has already set precedent which would be shown in court.Goddell can still suspend him.
I will be surprised if he doesn't before opening day.
We're talking about the Patriots.
That's right... when Jon steps away Marcus should be ready to assume slot CB.. I'm sure he'll add some muscle to his frame as well.. so this is great.. so myles Bryant can return to STs or the practice squad.. even though he was pretty solid In the pre season..Marcus is in a perfect situation for us...He's the main KR / PR and also backup CB in the slot...learning form a great one in Jonathan Jones.
Godell has never honored his own precedents. He decides by licking his finger and holding it up to see which way the wind blows.Jones and the Pats would fight it given that nfl players with gun charges weren't suspended. Myles is typically a slot DB/safety.. he's a solid STs player but thats it.Yep; and backup Slot CB too.
I'd love to swap Myles Away for a competent vet Outside CB now.
Good stuff, gonzo is pretty much Baptism by fire.. he's everything you want in a CB.. 6"2 , strong, fast, great foot work, instincts and make up speed. He's a starter and he'll have to adjust on the fly.. I don't think he's going to give up alot of plays.. in pre season there was no scheme.. our scheme is press man coverage.. that's gonzos strength.. but then again we are so multiple we can't stay in man all the time against running QBs. For now is surely Gonzo, Jack and Jon as the starters.Marcus will play slot cb on defense. We don't want him ever playing outside based on preseason. He will play a lot of sts as returner where he excels.
And will get some occasional offensive snaps. He's too good there not to use him some.
Jon actually shut down almost every bigger wr he faced. The one exception was Diggs. But even the best cbs have all had that one guy that gave them trouble.
Jon has had success vs. most bigger cbs for a number of reasons- first he's extremely physical. I cant stress that enough. Hes more physical, stronger and tougher tham almost cevery bigger wr he has faced. To me hes the defensive version of Steve Smith, one of the alltime great wrs. Hes also faster than almost every wr in the league but he reaches full speed quicker than most as most shorter speedy guys do. Like T.Hill. So hismakeup speed is better than a taller fast guy who's usually a long strider and takes longer to accelerate. He's also very very smart and crafty. He knows how to negate a height disadvantage with his physical toughness. So he brings great value at outside cb. Especially once Gonzo and Jack develop, it allows BB to use Jon outside vs. guys he knows Jon can shut down.
Different situations. Plaxico was AWARE of the gun in his pocket. Jones was UNPROVEN to be aware....which kind of makes sense because who the hell could be so stupid to bring two loaded guns through TSA? Pre-9/11 I could see it happening....but since then? So stupid....so I gotta say ignorance in this case was for real. He just didn't know.Good for him, the Patriots and us fans. Black eye to the justice system though, I mean wtf? You have a guy that takes a gun into a night club and shoots himself in the leg and gets 20 months in jail and this buffoon takes his through federal security and gets community service? If this was a player for any other team half this board would be crying over the dropped charges and light sentence.
Is what is. Of course I’ll be hoping he plays well when in the Pats uni but he’s still a knucklehead.
