Why so many snarky responses?
I hope I am not one. But I feel the snarkiness coming on.

It goes back to the draft. Trading up for a kicker who hasn’t blown past steady, reliable Folk. Taking a center from Troy way ahead of where he should have been taken instead of mammoth Ohio State RT Dawand Jones that columnist Morse says is doing so well. And not drafting a LT. A couple of decent mid round candidates. I especially liked Carter Warren. The Jets took him with our #120 that we gave them to move to #112 for Ryland. We also gave them #186. Just asinine. Ryland likely would have been available another round.

Carter Warren is a student of the game, who is highly intelligent, comes from a great family, and has all the physical tools to be a starting LT. Just had the bad luck to have been injured his senior season at Pitt.

So, yeah. A bit if bad luck. But also saw this coming.

Thru the draft the Pats could have taken both Carter Warren, reasonably still had Ryland available, and then taken RT Dawand Jones.

That leaves them only needing Sidy Sow, whom I love, at his accustomed LG. And Chasen Hines sticks with his natural RG.

Fewer moving parts and more continuity. Better line.

4th rounder with 4.38 speed for an undrafted free agent oft injured who would likely be cut
More BB magic.
Oh, no! Belichick traded a 3rd or 4th-string running back for a position of great need! How ever will his legacy recover from this one?!!?

************, man, you seem like one miserable person.

ok. At least you have provided context and substance.

Groh said after the draft that the Pats drafted Sow to be a tackle - not a move of desperation. Maybe give him more than one training camp to develop since he was a guard in college. Let's see ....................................................
Yes. But my guess is LT. The move to RT occurred later.

Anderson all the sudden got a disease or something. I’m speculating Lyme. Who knows.

Then McDermott beat out Reiff…but still couldn’t pass block.

It turned into an “Oh, sh-t” moment.

Cuz Anderson can be LT and Trent Brown RT. That could be beautiful. And Sow is developed at OT for the year with Reiff ahead of him. But they quickly realize Reiff doesn’t have much left in the tank. About to turn 35. This ain’t rocket science, boys.

OT is in short supply around the league, so assuming you'd be able to claim him on waivers is a pretty hefty gamble.
plus doing it now gives us an extra 3-4 days with him before the opener.

Apparently his father had a 10 year NFL career as a running back, but I don’t remember him.

A running back father with an offensive tackle son…can’t imagine that combination has happened all that often in the NFL’s history.

He was on the field for the Raiders in the snow game and got a few carries.

Patsfans: We need an OT, literally acquire anyone because even a life-size cardboard cutout of Gronk at Dunks would be better than what we have

Pats: Tyrone Wheatley

Patsfans: No that's not what I meant

I’m not complaining about OT help, but this wasn’t on my radar.

Why would they move Sow to LG when they've had MAFI playing there?

I was thinking right guard since he played right tackle, if Onwenu snaps are limited.
