Let's face it. Lance was a guy who should have been a mid round flyer who jumped up the draft charts because of his physical traits. Let's face it. People looked at him and saw the next Josh Allen and didn't really look at all his negatives. But Allen defied the odds. Allen should have been a bust. With a better team that wasn't patient to let him develop, he probably would have been.

If Lance is cut or he can be gotten for a sixth or seventh round pick, I say go for it. I just don't know if he is worth much more than that. He may be able to turn it around with another team that will baby him to get him where he needs to be, but usually when you fail the first time you are just broken and never become much of anything.

Really ? Did you watch Lance play in college ? He’s got a better arm, is more accurate, and is just as good a runner. He ran for over 1100 yards during his only full season in college, and ran for 14 TDs. Also threw 28 TD passes with 1 INT. ONE INT.
Success in college does not necessarily translate to success in the NFL - especially at the QB position. If you look at the list of QB Heisman Trophy winners over the past couple decades, there are far more misses than hits when they moved to the NFL. Lance did indeed have (only) 1 great year at the FCS level. That and $4 will get you a Dunkin' large cream & sugar.

Lance could very well be the greatest bust of all time. At least all those other guys we consider busts (Russell, Leaf, Mandarich) only cost 1 first rounder.

people are talking about Lance like he failed.
he has played in 5 games over the past 3 years. he has thrown 130 passes in games over the past 3 years.
granted he is not ready to play in the nfl. but shouldnt the 49'ers at least see their investment thru to the fullest? try and get him to the PS and continue working with him. if Purdy or Darnold injure, at least Lance has been in the system 3 seasons now, albeit not having played much.
there is still a ton of physical ability there,

I don't think he would make it to the PS; someone else would scoop him up. Seems to me emergency QB is the best role for him on that team.

Sign the beast!

Not doubting this....but any reports to support your theory?
Source: Trust me, bro.

In all fairness, the “not studying tape” thing was an unverified report. Only the 49ers and Lance know if that’s true. His play has not resembled that of a quarterback who is a film junkie, so I’m not sure how far-fetched it is.

As for the strip club part? That was verified. He was making it rain after the Bears loss last year.

Why is it always you who finds this chit?

Maybe a 7th conditional on that he finishes the season on the active-53

But the 49ers/Lynch will take less **** for trading what they did to go up and draft him than Belichick will for drafting Jones.

No one is going to take on his contract. He gets cut or the Niners cover some of the contract in a trade.

I would vote no to Lance.

Just watching the qb school breakdown, he’s a slow processor. Countless times he turned down open wrs.

I'd almost rather see then put out feelers on Andrew Luck to gauge if he wants to unretire. It's never a bad day to say fcuk the Dolts. Lol

Mr. Lance better have a (non Football) resume ready.
He already made millions . Just need to have a financial advisor who will ensure he doesn't burn away his earned income till date. Doesn't need to work ever.

What talents do you mean?
Great question.

It seems like there's a strong movement to get a running QB into the NYFL even though none has ever won a title in their 100+ year history. The problem for Lance is he can't pass OR run.

Flutie was a victim of old school height/size discrimination. No matter how he showed up. It was what it was.
Do you remember him having balls knocked down? I don't.

Did he play during the strike? That may have been another excuse they could use.

Zappe has a much better tape than Lance as of right now.

NO!

He isn't good.

and his physical talent isn't even that great, which destroys the whole ceiling argument.

Everybody is assuming that he has greatness in him but not every QB pans out

Some. But he was very adept at moving around and finding lanes. Of course, he had a number of years in the CFL to refine it.
