Player Signing Patriots sign Ezekiel Elliott to a 1 year deal

Curious how the "up to $6M" shakes out. If it's something like a $4M cap hit and $2M in incentives then that's pretty solid. Gives them a reliable back who can play on all 3 downs and rotate with Rhamondre. He isn't just a "third down back". In all likelihood Rhamondre still takes 2/3 of the snaps in that role but Zeke spelling him for 1/3 probably keeps him from wearing down late in the year. Zeke can also be a third-down back if Pierre Strong gets hurt, doesn't pan out, or just needs more time to develop. He's not what he used to be but he is still a decent player. He might provide solid production on a lower snap count.

I like the signing.

But every time he does that stupid feed me more thing, I may pass out from excessive douche chills.
I think he should do this when he plays here…

fantastic, maybe he'll be a decent third down back...but this does not make the offense any more easy to defend than they already are....this guy doesn't rip the scales in any way

I mean as a 2nd back to spell Rhamondre I don't mind it.

He's not the same guy he once was

"up to" 6M....drafted two rb last year, let Harris go for $1M....sounds like a failure in player acquisition/ retention if you have to get Elliot. The guaranteed $ better not be for more than Harris signed for

This is legit. The dogs up front are going to love blocking for this war house. Great move, Patriots.

Now we don’t have to keep consulting Nurse Wratched about Ty Montgomery’s boo boos.

I posted this over on Reddit as a guess about the contract.
  • $1M signing bonus
  • ~$1.17M vet min salary
  • ~$830K** in game-day active roster (i.e., 48-man) bonuses
  • $1M in LTBE incentives
  • $2M in NLTBE incentives
Which works out to a cap hit of about $3.9M (he missed two games last year so two of his roster bonuses would be NLTBE).

Valid point. I don't see how Zeke is an upgrade over younger Harris.

it's a signing for a RB that upgrades Kevin Harris and a RB with 12 rushing TD's last season. The same total as EVERY rushing TD scored by the Patriots last year.
Now I can smell the muntiness of you damned acolytes of the **** eating scumbag, undescended testicles munt, Adam Jones. Jones needs to be ERADICATED like the ****ing bug he is. Immediately starts munting like the biatch he is about a move that makes total football sense. Add in that vacuous vage, Mayfly the Pinhead and her absolutely USELESS "take" and what you have is the cesspool of Patriot hatred that has bubbled forth since Brady left.
