Thank Cheebus Russey took Murray's spot, the line is slowly getting better.

Murray has a cool name, that's about it.

People just don’t understand the process. Onwenu is out. Strange is out. They will be back. We aren’t auditioning starters at G.
A big part of roster evaluation is guys on the bubble. Murray is as on the bubble as it gets, and everything you hear says he gets high grades in effort, commitment etc. The question is whether he really has the ability. Murray playing with the 1s wasnt because he was next on the perceived depth chart it was to get an evaluation on a bubble guy.
Every year we go through this. So and so is working with the 1s he may be a starter, and ultimately he’s cut. Because he wasn’t working with the 1s because he was competing to start, he was working with the 1s to evaluate a guy on the bubble.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised to see Thornton end up on IR, and either Nixon or Boutte get a shot.

A little early yet but the trend is not Boney T's friend. Actual game action will tell.

I am not saying he is going to be remotely as good, but Douglas could be what Tyreek Hill is.

Interesting comparison here - Douglas certainly seems to play twitchier than his 3-cone would suggest.

(Edit: He's now listed at 192 lb on the Patriot's roster, so that would definitely bring his size score up a couple of grades).

I know the consensus around here is that Zappe's ceiling is a good back-up I beg to differ. the 49ers don't view Brock Purdy as a back-up he's their Starter. I want Zappe to keep Mac on his toes it's only going to yield good things for us in the long run.

mike: Tre Nixon playing with the ones it seems like we have our WR position figured out a lot good players in the mix. Tre Nixon is having strong camp catching a lot of deep balls.
