Update: Curran says Belichick has been on the hot seat since 2019

You defended the Patricia hiring as though your life depended on it.

In better shape how? The football team is 25-26 and currently at best the third ranked team in their division. When was the last time you could say that? Probably 2000.
I absolutely did not and you know that because we discussed it recently. I said I understood it. That is not close to what you are saying.

NOW is not the last 3 years. “Ranked” is meaningless.
How would they be better today if they had spent 100 million on Brady and we still carrying dead money?

Again, you can't escape the no franchise clause. There is no way RKK didn't have a major hand in that. And avoiding a public tar and feathering didn't exactly work out, RKK has taken a fair share of criticism for the Brady departure. 1) That he let him go and 2) that he got absolutely nothing back for a quarterback who went on to win a Super Bowl and have MVP caliber seasons.
So you are blaming Brady for holding them hostage with a no franchise clause?

I seriously doubt Bill Belichick is worried about losing his job at all. Unlike Parcells he isn’t going year to year, and I’m sure he and Kraft already have a succession plan in place, with Mayo slated to replace him.

That said, Volin is a Dolphins fan who has been talking **** about Belichick and the Patriots for years. This makes some here very happy, as they do the exact same thing, and are hoping they lose.

I’ll say Kraft wants O’Brien and that’s why we had to wait another season to get him, because he was committed to Alabama.

I hate that reporters can add “anonymous sources explain to me..” to anything. Anything at all. Bill very well could be on the hot seat. Not a huge limb for any of us to go out on but does anyone think a real friend of Belichick would speak to the media? C’mon son. GTFO.

The Boston Globe has all it can handle just trying to stay in business.
Indeed, and their future is dark because they haven't figured out no one would be unhappy if they fired Volin, and if they replaced him with someone competent they might actually gain readership.

But Bill has that crappy QB Mac that you don't like and won more games.
Have you seen Wolford play? If Mac isn't better than the likes of Wolford and Perkins then Volin is going to look like a genius after the season.

BTW this is noodle arm Mac throwing a 70 yard dart so can we stop with the noodle arm nonsense you guys spew every week.
Seriously?? LOL! A completed pass to a YMCA receiver in the field house. You want to bet on how many 70-yard completions Mac has during the season? Even one with YAC getting most of it done is doubtful.

Do you think the Bengals wouldn't even THINK about it?
No. They're more than happy with Zac Taylor. 0% considering BB.

Hell, what about Tampa Bay? They wouldn't consider it?
They're content with dummy Bowles "coaching" their team so who knows what they'd do. Literally everyone is an upgrade there.

BTW the NY JETS TOTALLY WOULD!
They love their meathead Saleh. Plus I'm pretty sure that organization hates Belichick with a passion.

You don’t seem to know much, your here arguing that paying a franchise caliber QB less isn’t to the benefit of the rest of the roster. Then you suggest BB is effecting the teams ability to pay players which is nonsensical.
I asked you a simple question and you give me this garbage response. Again, is Bill worth $20 mil? It's a singular question. You already evaded all of my questions about the general "fiscal responsibility" of the team. I'm asking about Bill only.

So one year removed from winning a Super Bowl, Stafford lost his magic QB powers…. the same ones that waited twelve years to manifest the moment he moved from Detroit to LA… got it.

It had nothing at all to do with their offensive line being a joke and Stafford leading the entire league in sacks through the first month of last season.

The problem with believing magic QB’s are responsible for anything and everything, is you have to take ridiculous quantum leaps in logic like this ^ one to pretend it makes sense.
Their quarterback play sucked mightily from start to finish. They won 5 games. Where's the "quantum leap"?

Sure thing, pal. Go back and look at your comments in the thread. Embarrassing.

Way to completely avoid my question with a question. Not backing up one's comments seems to be contagious on this MB.

How does that work? A player holding a team hostage over a franchise clause? The team had control of Brady one way or another. They gave it up voluntarily. Obviously Brady wanted the opportunity to control his own destiny. The team didn't have to oblige him and nor should they have. I'm a Brady guy all the way but the team should have maximized that asset and they didn't. If they couldn't sign Brady on the terms that they were comfortable with, which they couldn't because Brady said FU I'm done with these insulting offers, then they should have franchised him and kept him under those terms (which they wouldn't have) or traded him for multiple draft picks. Instead in return they got relatively nothing back. And Brady played MVP caliber football for three more seasons. And he's still probably capable of top 10 QB play but he had the life sucked out of him by toilet bowles.

Volin is merely speculating and is throwing it up against the wall now because he thinks he can sell it. He's talking to no one. That said he thinks he can get traction with this because lesser coaches with lesser reputations might be in the hot seat with similar results over three seasons. BB deserves more respect than to give up on him yet. Results do matter more and more if the team doesn't make a better showing this year though. Hot seat? Not yet. Concern? Sure but right now i'd be more concerned about who would replace him.

I know my comments, you are a liar.

Avoid your question? I made the statement that they are better off today than if they kept Brady you made some inane comment about the past.

Brady renegotiated his contract pre 2019 got a raise and got the franchise tag waived. Do you think the patriots just did that for no reason? Common sense would say that while Brady was allowing Miami to tamper, and making negative comments in the press, he probably made a threat of hold out or something and got a raise and the tag waived. You seem to think the Patriots for no particular reason just gave it away. That makes no sense

what is there to understand? It’s a move that made Zero sense at the time and makes even less sense after it played out for a year. It was the most predictable thing that could’ve ever happened

Apparently I know your comments better. Pull up the thread if you think I'm a liar. You love Patricia.

Brady possibly threatened to hold out when Bill spitefully tried to ship Gronk off to Siberia. But Brady's looking out for buddy facing a really bad situation there. No way Brady was ever holding out on Pats fans over contract issues. Brady asked for the no franchise clause, Kraft gave it to him out of sentiment and a hope that Brady would retire (he said as much). We know what happened next instead.

You are a liar.

Gronk was retired in 2019. The rest is you making things up to fit your tired fellating narrative.

Rather than being in someone he has no experience with he took 2 coaches that he has a long history with and trusts and felt he could make it work.

Didn’t want Someone with no experience, ok assigning two guys with no experience coaching and calling offenses. Makes sense

Is that what I said? No.
