Why would he? Brady clearly wasn't in decline. He was fresh off a SB win in 2018 and a 12-4 record in 2019 that would have been 13-3 with the top seed if not for the blown call vs KC. Brady then went on to win another SB and come within a dumb coaching decision the next season of going to another.

Aaron Rodgers is way overrated and one weird dude. A perfect fit for the Jets.
This is clearly revisionist history, look at Brady's numbers in 2019 they were some of the worst in his career. That 12-4 record was 90% a defense that people had to look at stats from the 40's to find comparable PPG numbers. Now how much of that was poor supporting cast around Brady, how much was he injured? Those were fair questions that got answered in Tampa but at the time without knowledge of what the next two years would bring Brady clearly looked like he was in decline.

He definitely was not as good in 2019 as he was years prior, it’s ok to admit. There could’ve been many reasons for that, but he was not as good in 2018 as he was in 2017 and wasnt as good in 2019 as he was in 2018

Could more Lily photos be posted, please. This is a football forum after all.

It's more likely Brady's numbers were a reflection of the offensive talent around him (which has hindered every Pats QB since) and he was just giving the Pats a high floor that we haven't had since.

Brady was playing at an MVP level 2 years later and was solid in a Covid season with Tampa.

The Pats have just been woeful on offense really since 2018 (a few key pieces started clicking very late that season).

I think in 2023 we can all acknowledge the problem clearly wasn't Brady as Brady went somewhere else and was fine and the Pats have been having similar issues ever since.

If the Patriots had made this trade the people that are praising the jets would be blasting the Patriots. This trade is not for Ard in his prime, this is the QB that the GB Packers have given up on and have seen enough. the same Arod that mailed it in last year. He is not only on the downside of his career, but he is a douchebag to boot. I am so glad the Pats didn't make this trade. Arod will not win another championship especially now that he is playing in the AFC.
The Patriots and Jets are in very different situation. The Pats are clearly in a rebuild and the Jets have a really good roster that was held back largely by having the worst QB in the league. The Jets needed average to get in the playoffs. If Rodgers can even be 70%-80% of what he usually is, they will be viewed as contenders.

I don't think Rodgers will win another championship. But you can't act like it's apples to oranges either.

what, no cleavage?
That's kinda the point. It's evolved into headshots. Not that we are exclusive to that, but, at least for me, I look for the more bland shots, as it's funnier. Everyone expects to see the girls spilling out, and then it's her at the At&T counter.

Or looking for a new GM
Until we can beat Buffalo and contain Diggs.. I will be critical of my team as a fan. We were that team everyone tried to challenge for 19 seasons... I'm not using the word rebuilding anymore.. it's time to show what we can do post brady..

Yes, Rodgers is a very experienced QB but I am not 100% convinced that he will gel all that fast with his new team....time will tell.
He already has a connection with lazard.. he just has to form one with Wilson... people forget the truck the breece hall is.. the guy was running over LBs last season

I'm trying not to put a damper on things and I was trying to avoid this subject, but it's everywhere. There's a reason that she hides behind the AT&T counter and you don't see shots of her below the waist.

Brady was in decline until his receivers in Tampa picked him up (that and the relatively easy 2020 and 2021 regular seasons Bucs schedules). Once Gronk and Brown were no longer a factor and the schedule got considerably tougher in 2022, Brady reverted into 2019 Brady.

GOAT for so long played with 3s and 4s at WR.. he had possesion WRs and maximized the abilities out of what he had to work with. Accuracy, precision passing, and timing was the make up of the patriots offense. Brady's decline at his age was better than most QB's in the NFL.. that is true the talent in Tampa was considerably better than what he left in NE.. however the injury bug bit tampa and guys started dropping.

Screw the numbers. Like Bill says stats are for losers. I'm going to continue to go by what my eyes have seen.

No revisionist history here. In Brady's last two years here he won a SB and followed that up with a 12-4 season that probably would have been better if the Pats didn't get robbed of a win vs KC and lose half of the OL and both FBs (had to use a LB at FB). After Bill dumped Brady, basically over 10 million, Brady went on to win another SB and was a dumb coaching decision from possibly another.

It's ok to admit that it was a mistake to let Brady walk.

And now, the same fans who were ok with seeing Brady go want to see Bill chase a record and get to finish his career here. I would have preferred that Brady finish his career here and maybe get that 7th ring with the Pats instead of the Bucs. We deserved that and so did Brady.

Just as they did during Brady's last year here only Brady carried the Pats to a 12-4 record and the playoffs.

Nice seeing Rogers joining the J-E-T-S. They actually have a lot in common with having played and won ONE Super Bowl in the last 54 years and now they’re all “dreaming”about the next..

And had AB for a cup of coffee who in one game did more than Jonnu Smith and Harry combined in thier time here.. we had Jules, Gordon, Myers, gronk AB at one time on that roster.

@1960Pats 12-4 season in 2019, but a loss to Ryan Tannehill in the playoffs. If you can't beat the hapless Titans you don't deserve to go to the AFCCG or SB. Don't blame the Chiefs game.

It was a mistake to let Brady walk only in that he would have been better than Cam or Mac. However, it still wouldn't have been enough to win a championship without more talent around him.

The only darkness here is the next few seasons as a Pats fan if Corky is the QB.
You need to stop this. Openly rooting for Jones to fail isn't the way to go and while I get the support for Zappe based on your username, you just have to let the process play itself out. Jones will get this season to prove he is/isn't the guy and it's already been reported enough that internally, they obviously like Zappe and that means he'll get the opportunity to play if the circumstances warrant it.

Jones will either become the guy, or he won't. And if that's the case, Zappe will get an opportunity. But repeating the same thing over and over needs to end.

Glad you’re not a Sheep.
The best thing we can do for the future of this team is to trade up for a franchise QB.
These don't grow on trees, and most years, the top guys don't even pan out. "It is what it is" at this point.

This team is going to have to win with just a decent player who can move the ball and get it to guys who can make plays and score points. And this is essentially the season where they have to make a decision about Mac's future. So while you hate him, enjoy the fact he's under the most pressure he's been under as a player thus far and let it play out. Zappe's under contract for three more years, so you'll get your answer

I hope Rodgers isn't Favre 2.0. Favre's Jets knocked the Pats out of the playoffs in 2009 with a win in Foxboro.
Favre also screwed us in 2002 when he was with the Packers and couldn't beat the Jets in week 17 so we missed the playoffs.
