edit- removed tweet because I was the third one in a row to post.

Seems like they are trying to sign a bunch of middle tier tackles and let them battle it out. Would prefer Orlando Brown Jr. to a bunch of guys totaling the same salary but that's unfortunately not how the Pats operate.

Maybe they’re thinking a bunch of middle tier tackles and a high draft pick?

If they're signing Reiff I wonder how that will impact the draft strategy. Maybe we're not looking at OT in the first round. Or maybe we are anyway?

Yup, Bill putting Mac in the best position to succeed with scrub tackles and no receivers.

There is still time to correct the receivers issue, not many free agent receivers have been signed and none of the Pats targets have yet to be moved. In terms of tackle I would have preferred one big name to a lot of small ones, but a lot of small ones make sense if the plan is to go with a franchise left tackle at 14.

I would like to see us take some chances on the following: Shaq Griffin, talented player who has had a few injury problems; Parris Campbell, former high draft pick with explosiveness who can play the slot; Julian Love, could be our McCourty replacement; Foster Moreau and/ or Irv Smith - different style TEs but both would be helpful behind Hunter.

Can’t be much cost. Doubt that affects any other move. I’m guessing McDermott, Cajuste, Anderson, Reiff are all battling for a couple spots.

I don’t mind adding multiple linemen. Ideally we would have found a long term answer and paid up for it but this seems a sound back up strategy. Get some veterans in and combine it with a day1 or 2 draft pick.

They’re not scrubs. At minimum they’re great depth which as we saw last year is sorely needed.
If I remember correctly, it seemed at the end of training camp there was a lot of depth at tackle. That's why they traded Herron. Injuries and sub standard performance proved that to be an illusion. I think throwing numbers at a problem is not a bad thing. I wish good things for McDermott. He came in an performed well at the end of the year.

Don't know much about this guy...should be fast. Age ok. 2022 was a good year. And 2020 with 9 PD's / 3 sacks is nice.
