Seems like they are trying to sign a bunch of middle tier tackles and let them battle it out. Would prefer Orlando Brown Jr. to a bunch of guys totaling the same salary but that's unfortunately not how the Pats operate.
Yup, Bill putting Mac in the best position to succeed with scrub tackles and no receivers.edit- removed tweet because I was the third one in a row to post.

They’re not scrubs. At minimum they’re great depth which as we saw last year is sorely needed.Yup, Bill putting Mac in the best position to succeed with scrub tackles and no receivers.
There is still time to correct the receivers issue, not many free agent receivers have been signed and none of the Pats targets have yet to be moved. In terms of tackle I would have preferred one big name to a lot of small ones, but a lot of small ones make sense if the plan is to go with a franchise left tackle at 14.Yup, Bill putting Mac in the best position to succeed with scrub tackles and no receivers.
Would be stupid to base your draft strategy around a nearly 35 yr old tackle. But, I mean….these days it would make sense. If they're signing Reiff I wonder how that will impact the draft strategy. Maybe we're not looking at OT in the first round. Or maybe we are anyway?
If I remember correctly, it seemed at the end of training camp there was a lot of depth at tackle. That's why they traded Herron. Injuries and sub standard performance proved that to be an illusion. I think throwing numbers at a problem is not a bad thing. I wish good things for McDermott. He came in an performed well at the end of the year. They’re not scrubs. Keep Trent. He will still be our best tackle. How long before Trent Brown is sent packing? Cap savings would be $8 million.
