It's interesting you say that another Giant WR who's a also a free agent and Meyers clone Darius Slayton.
I was unaware of that... Thanks... Will look him up

If you go though the last ten years of the draft, the #14 pick is right on the border of where the blue chips end and the crapshoot prospects begin. I just look at Wikipedia and the pro bowl/all-pro stuff and you can see a big dropoff right around the middle of the first round. I think this is why they say the most value is at the end of the first/beginning of the second round. There's not a huge probability difference of success between the 20th pick and the 40th pick.
We have multiple holes to fill especially on Offense and I like the dept. at some of the positions we'll be looking ie... OT - WR and CB. I wouldn't mind a Trade Down if it nets us another pick the more the merrier.

No. On the draft value chart, 14 alone is worth more than 29 and 40 combined, so why would we give them a late 4th as well?

For instance, in 2021, the Giants sent pick 11 to the Bears, who used it to select Fields. In return, the Giants received pick 20, fifth-round picks in 2021 and Chicago's first and fourth-round picks in 2022.

The Bears were willing to pay a premium in order to get their QB of the future, but your proposed trade doesn’t represent good value. In order to drop from 14 to 29, the Pats should expect a high 2nd plus a late day 2 pick OR a 2024 1st and an early day 3 pick this year.

NO. Again, that represents poor value, even if they receive pick 67 or 68. Last year, AZ traded pick 23 for Marquise Brown (who was coming off of a 91-1,008-6TD year) and pick 100. The difference in value between 14 and 23 is ~ 70 points on the draft value chart, which translates into pick 57-59 range…..so, if the Pats traded 14 for Jeudy, they should expect to receive not only a late 2nd but also a late 3rd, if one uses the Marquise Brown trade as a guide. I would say that Brown and Jeudy are in the same WR tier and had similar production entering year 4. In fact, overall Brown had been more productive years 1-3 than Jeudy.

If the Pats trade 14 for a WR, it has to be for a young WR1. That’s not Jeudy and pick 67 or 68 wouldn’t make me feel better about overpaying for a WR2. At 14 one of the top 3 CBs or OTs should still be there. Those should be the target positions. If they then want to get aggressive and trade back into later rd 1 in order to draft someone like Flowers, I’d be down with that.
Cousin, I might be wrong but trade value points on pick #14=1100. #29 in round 1 is 640 and #40 in round two both owned by the Saints is 500. So hence their value is 1140 and ours is 1100.Comp pick we own in the 4th at #134=39 points. So we win by one point.

#14 + #134=1139 points (us)

#29 + #40=1140 points (them)

With my GM hat on, I was trying to build logical Draft currency for us and still entice the Saints to move up in the Draft while giving us an added second rounder for bait for the Broncos. I am not saying BB would give up #14 for Jeudy but he is better than any WR we might get there and we have NFL tape. 972 yards last year with a bad Russ, injuries and weird QB room. Is there any first round Draft talent in this years Draft that perhaps can get 972 yards in 2023? I don't know. I think perhaps #46 (our second rounder) gets this done. He is still cheap for one more year($4mm) ....than his fifth year comes in at $12mm. Again you are saying that Jeudy is a #2 WR. I don't see a #1 kid in this Draft and I don't know if there is a #1 WR available either trade of FA? Is that a fair statement?

I could be wrong about Jeudy and you might be right but he's only 23. Love Hopkins but he is 31. I feel Juedy can be that #1 WR. Juedy and Hopkins are both 6'1" Hopkins has about 10lbs on Juedy. Speed? Hopkins ran a 4.57 and Jeudy a 4.46

Hopkins will cost us a pick and $12mm against the CAP and Jeudy $4mm plus a pick. Jeudy missed one game in 2022 and Hopkins missed 7 (4 on a PED suspension).

I would be tickled with either and I still think we keep #14 or #29. It's an abundant year for OT or CB. I think we still land one even at #29.

If we loose Myers we are actually down 2 WR. We still lack speed. One of these or Keenan Allen (more like Meyers) and my sleepr is Paris Campbell and his 4.31 speed and a FA. He was better than McLaurin at Ohio State. He is now healthy.

Cousin, it's all conjecture. They are not going to listen to what we say anyway.

Best,
DW Toys

Waller played in 9 games last year and Renfrow in 10 they were hardly on the field at the same time...That said Derek Carr is still an average QB.
That's true forgot all the time he missed..

I would pull the trigger he had year off to think about what he did. C Ridley's number are impressive I would take him over D Hopkins 24/7.

Isn't he under contract with Jags?

Most definitely agree? But is he under contract with jax????

It looks like it

Ok, well in that case if he gets reinstated, I doubt Jax will want to part ways with him.. especially with the other pieces on offense Lawrence has at his disposal..

What's people take on this guy move TE Evan Engram? loved him coming out I think Bob could do things with him he's doing what Jonnu Smith should. Would love Engram on three year pack.

Crap Lawrence is going be even better with him.
Yes, a bona-fide number 1, and those other guys at WR Jax is going to be a force to be reckoned with... as currently constructed they are ahead of us..

Yes I'll take engram! We still need another threat at TE, as you said BOB could absolutely do some things with his skills.. we are financially stuck with Jonnu, the guys talented just not nearly involved enough or he's hurt..

I am getting sick just thinking about them Ridley - Kirk and Jones they will be very close to the Bengal on Offense. They could be a nightmare in the passing game you can't cover everybody someone will be open.

5th year option is important.
