Reports are the Pats may upgrade the WRs through trade (not necessarily Hopkins)

Yup, exactly this.

One of those "look we've had our differences but Houston was ages ago, i respect the hell out of you and know we both want to win. I know as well as anyone what you can do"

Most of these guys have had to suck it up at one point or another. Big boys getting paid big bucks.

Hop isn't my first trade candidate but I'd be as happy as anything seeing him in a Pats uni.
Yeah, for sure, I think it makes sense. I also neglected to mention the fact that there are helpful external factors - having Belichick as the actual head coach helps, and the overall culture of the organization under Kraft has to be a lot better than the sh*tshow that goes on in Houston.

Hopkins will be 31 at the start of the 2023 season.

His real salary money starts this season @ 19 million and 15 million in 2024. For an ageing WR who hasnt been available these last 2 seasons? Arizona would take a 22 million dead money cap hit spread over 2 years trading him. Why wouldn't Arizona want at the very least a 1st round pick to ease the pain?

Who is a WR in the draft that is a PTP player who could replace Meyers in the slot going forward if he moves on?
There's a bunch of smaller slots like Addison, JSN, Flowers, Downs, Reed, Dell and Tyler Scott but a couple of guys closer to Meyers size would be Rashee Rice and Jalin Hyatt.

Both are faster, more sudden/twitched up but are more comparable in size. Which is important to us. Out of those two I'd say Rice. He's more familiar with the short/intermediate areas and blocks his butt off. I like Rice a lot.

Parker Washington's is another name I haven't heard mentioned but he's really fun. Think he's in my Tier 2 or 3. In a RB body playing WR. Very effective and tough in open space. Again he's built like a RB and shows off his elusiveness, contact balance every game. Smaller but like Dell for example he'll occasionally go up and make a play.

I know Bill B values continuity. But now he has three significant assistants -- Mattie, Judge, Bill O - whose players hated them. Really hated them. In contrast, I don't think the Pats players hate Bill B (well, except for Ted Johnson). They see him as tough but a square shooter. But these other donkeys.... I just don't see how this is going to work in "today's NFL?" Help me understand!

We'll have to wait and see what happens with Patricia and Judge. Not sure who you think hates O'Brien?

Aren't we paying Agholor 15million for no production? And Jonnu smith?

But some posters here don't think Meyers is worth that? He's our edelman

right, I hope they get rid of both of them, especially judge. The houston players majorly hated O'Brien. When JJ Watt finally turned on him, it was ova.

I don't recall the team hating O'Brien, it seemed more like the organization overall was a cluster with Jack Easterby showing up and screwing with everything. O'Brien getting the GM role and making some poor roster decisions didn't help.

I don't think BOB is in the same class as the other two. Gronk certainly thinks that BOB is a good coach. BOB had issues mostly as a GM with Easterby and ownership involved in creating a lot of the disfunction.

I'll go one better Hunter Renfrow > Meyers the hard on for Meyers around here is just ridiculous. And I like Meyers but I don't think he's anything special also IF T Thornton plays up to his potential even You would be saying Meyers who??
Who has a hard on for Meyers? I must not be paying attention. All I’ve ever read is folks spitting facts and arguing that he is undervalued by the fan base, which he is. The two players are incredibly similar statistically, and Renfrow has had Carr throwing him the ball and the benefit of having guys like Waller, and Adams at different points of his career taking the attention away from him. Jacobi has had Newton, Jones and Zappe to work with, and has often been the most reliable guy we have. Is he an all-star? Is he a true #1 that should be the first target on every play? Absolutely not. If the market gives him money above what he’s worth, then you let him walk. That’s the same for every player. That’s not having a hard on for a dude, that’s just the facts.

Gronk was effusive in his praise for BOB talking with Kay Adams a few days ago.

Rice's highlight video is amazing. So smooth, very sudden, great hands, looks like an amazing pick to me. It is like when I watched Stevenson's highlights for the first time, incredibly smooth and natural. Adjusts his body and hands to the ball so well, his run after the catch does not look like Myers ;-), and Rice even avoids the tackle ever so slightly to always fall forward. Great pick.

Seemed the poster was talking about players in NE or a large group of players.

I could be wrong, but I ass-umed that Urban Cowboy was referring to the players in Houston who hated Obie...

I meant the Texans. Just my sense of it being here in Houston. No inside info. Hopefully my interpretation is wrong!

Like Jules was at the end of his career?
