Reports are the Pats may upgrade the WRs through trade (not necessarily Hopkins)

Agree. People here want to let a guy walk who has quietly (As a rookie) moved into the top 10 all time Pats WR reception list. He is in between Amendola and Moss for Christ sakes. And this is with Cam Newton, a rookie QB and Mac's 2nd season.

How much are you willing to pay against the cap for a WR of Meyers caliber?

I know you weren't asking me but I tossed out these #'s a while back and feel good about them.

3/23, 24 with incentives. He's been our 3rd down god, tough af, will block his ass off but has a ceiling. Particularly with Mac. I hope he's back.

Who is a WR in the draft that is a PTP player who could replace Meyers in the slot going forward if he moves on?

I'd be willing to go $13m avg. a year. He might get a lot less, but that's what he's worth to the Patriots.

Obviously, if you're talking cap, he can play for $8m in his first year and make up the rest on the back end.
This... He will be between 12 -15 . No way are we getting him at 3/23 . That's robbery. And mind you if we lose Meyers we need a suitable replacement and that cost will be upwards of 12 million and what if that signing turns out to be like agholor. At least Meyers is known commodity. He has more value to us than other teams.

id be THRILLED if they kept him here for that, comes out to about 8m a year which would be a travesty if we have opportunity to keep him here around that price and don't

Tank Dell - Zay Flowers - Josh Downs and Marvin Mims. They are better and have more upside than Meyers will ever have no disrespect.

Doesn't he play right field?
Waller is old: on Renfrow I am surprised he's even being mentioned in a possible Trade. IF it comes down to a choice between Renfrow and Hopkins I want Renfrow 10 out of 10 times.

Waller. Isn't he a country singer?

I'd rather keep Meyers than pay 2x that money to trade for a risk at some older WR.
BUT - with all the Hopkins speculation, I think it's interesting when you look at Moss' history the year we got him in 07.
It's super similar to DHop right now.
Both were about 30, after 9/10 years in the league, 7/8 with 1st franchise, then on a brief 2nd team for 2 seasons with career low numbers.
Could be interesting.

They are all already better than Meyers? LOL. Did Jakobi steal your girl or is there another reason that you dislike him so much?

There's one variable not accounted for, bud.

I'll go one better Hunter Renfrow > Meyers the hard on for Meyers around here is just ridiculous. And I like Meyers but I don't think he's anything special also IF T Thornton plays up to his potential even You would be saying Meyers who??

Obviously O'Brien being back makes a lot of people say "Well, there goes Hopkins" but I can also see a way that it helps. They can basically come to terms and say "Listen man, you've been on some crappy teams with stupid coaches, I got fired and had to OC at Alabama and run someone else's system and everyone hated me for it, this crap could be a heck of a lot worse than the success you and I used to have together." Kind of like a couple who's overall pretty happy but breaks up over something petty and then dates around a while and they both see everything else out there sucks in comparison to what they already had.

I think Meyers and Renfrow are pretty close. Meyers has a proven track record, good hands, gets open, makes contested catches, smart, tough.

you think this imbicile ever had a girl?

A rant's coming...

Can't the Pats get drafting a WR right for m'r f'ing once in a decade at least? How about 5 years? I'd be whistling ZippyDeeDooDah from my rumphole. 2009 Rd 7 was the last time. Jakobi wasn't even drafted FFS. I was the guy in the beginning of '20 screaming put them in you munchwads - why is he WR6? Good gravy. And when you draft them, how about giving them a shot? How does Tre Nixon have 0 snaps in 2 years? How is he going to get better? If he sucks enough to not get a single snap in 2 years, why is he still here? Lynn Bowden had 14 last year, and you can't get Nixon a whiff? What did he and Malcolm do? What a big FU to Ernie. Then, in addition to drafting like Antoine Walker going to the casino, Pats keep picking up these reject WR scraps from the bargain or going out of style bin and throwing them in games. FAAHHK.
Alright - I'm back. Sunshine, rainbows, unicorns, and steak. IBIT.

Yup, exactly this.

One of those "look we've had our differences but Houston was ages ago, i respect the hell out of you and know we both want to win. I know as well as anyone what you can do"

Most of these guys have had to suck it up at one point or another. Big boys getting paid big bucks.

Hop isn't my first trade candidate but I'd be as happy as anything seeing him in a Pats uni.
