Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

They should trade Evans. Preferably to Vegas after Brady signs there.

Wouldn’t Tampa be spitefully and not trade him where he went. Would make sense tho Vegas still needs a WR2 and will have extra picks with the Carr trade. Just imagine Adams/Evans out wide in a two TE look with Gronk and Waller and Jacobs in the backfield my god

I think the Raiders meet the "not f---ing good" criteria, presuming the goal is to win a championship.
Be realistic. The Chiefs, Bengals, Bills, Chargers, etc. aren't looking at Brady for obvious reasons. He has to go to a team that needs an upgrade at the most important position in the sport, so by definition all of those teams are not in ideal condition.

Ok, the 49ers are literally the only “go here and you’re a Super Bowl favorite” team. Besides them, what if the goal is to have a smooth functional operation where Brady can excel to the best of his current ability, win double digit games, and get into the playoffs where they see what happens then? Because that’s the Raiders.

They’ll be a “super team” if they win next though

Yes, if Belichick were their GM. Licht seems to operate differently. I also think Brady and Licht have a good relationship and mutual respect so I don't think spite will enter into it.

Let's be honest. Anyone "good" likely has already got a very good quarterback. Anyone "good" didn't pick Brady in 2020 either. At 46 it's too risky a move unfortunately because I still think he has enough to make the difference between just being good and being good enough to close the deal with the right team

This is true all the insiders say they have a great relationship as well as with Evans

if Raiders were to get Evans, would they even have enough cap to use on defense?

The Raiders literally do not have a starting QB right now. They are there if Brady wants it. Maybe he doesn’t. But they want him.
right. it seems too obvious unless Brady doesn’t want to go there. another benefit would be not having to learn an entire new offensive system since McDaniels is there

I'm not sure of that. The Raiders are in the toughest division in football. Getting to double digits won't be easy in that division or the AFC conference in general.

He needs a strong Oline which is the most important now in his career, at least 2 legit weapons, a respectable running game and a defense that won't **** it up

I know he was going through a lot with his personal life but his demeanor/focus/attitude was really tough to watch this season. He seemed to get more surly than ever. Of course the coaching had a lot to do with that as well.

Positives: Brady (if he rebounds), some weapons, familiar coaches and system, $60M cap space after cutting Carr, top-quarter draft position.

Negatives: Brady (if he doesn't rebound), weak OL, meh defense, weak depth, same division as Mahomes and Herbert.

They have to get a lot of things right to become that smooth functional operation that you're projecting.

Brady needs to mesh well with the young players, show that he can be coached, not pout and yell at the other players, and not regress too much on the field.

The front office needs to have a strong draft and FA period to fill holes and boost depth.

Well his new head coach was the guy responsible for punting away a chance of a SB repeat in 2021. So do you blame him for being "surly"?

At least when Brady was surly in 2019, the talent level was just not good enough and nothing could be done about it.

The talent level was there initially for 2022 but the drafts haven't been great and FA worse. Then the coaching from top to bottom sabotaged the team. I'd be doubly surly.

Brady makes any team that's a QB away from being a superbowl contender.

Fins and 49ers meet that criteria if Purdy fails in a big moment this post season.

I could also see Kyle Shanahan not wanting any part of Brady purely out of egotism. If the 49ers fail to win a Superbowl this year but win it next year with Brady, then all credit will go to Brady and how he brought them the winning culture they needed.

I don't see any HC with an ego wanting that over their head. Makes me also wonder if Bruce Arians retired partially because he was sick of that narrative in TB and didn't want to coach another season under Brady's shadow.

I don't think Brady has the ego to want it to be all about him, but that's how the media makes it out to be now.

49ers,Dolphins and Raiders makes the most sense if the opportunity presents itself! I believe Bruce Arians primarily stepped away from coaching for health reasons. Still and all Arians is like Belichick or Andy Reid in comparison to Toilet Bowles

I think Brady has a huge football IQ. I think he'll look at all the options on the table, and decide none are good enough to make him want to go through all the physical work and mental focus another season will take. I'm sure he notices his own decline on the field and I think it'll take a strong opportunity for him to want to have to work through his declining form. I just don't see any opportunity that lines up like Tampa did in 2020 and I don't think he'll settle for less. If he does, it'll be a sign that he mainly wants to continue to add to his stats more than win games, which hasn't been his MO all along.

They can clear cap up to 120 million they’ll have enough to get the defense to above average to go with an elite offense

I mean, yes the Raiders have cap space and can create more. Cool. Besides trading for Ramsey (and what do you trade, definitely not the 7th overall pick) who else do you get? Who’s an elite guard or right tackle or whatever the hell they need there? Yes they can build a dream team roster (hey worked for the Rams for a year I guess) but with who?

Vegas oline as middle packed and some had them ranked 11-13 and we all know Brady makes a liner better by getting rid of the ball. They’ll have the 7th to take the best oline available preferably the kid from OSU and put him at right tackle

I'm not sure of that. The Raiders are in the toughest division in football. Getting to double digits won't be easy in that division or the AFC conference in general.

3 teams from the NFC East made it to the division round why are people worried about the division all they have to do is make the playoffs and be a contending team

It’s not worth it no.

I think it is they still want a WR2 as Renfrow is considered a split WR imagine Evans getting CB2 and not being doubled cause of Adams on the other side and Waller/Renfrow in the middle with an elite running game.

Also Keenan Allen might get cut so that’s another guy they can grab
