Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

The announcer said that was Daks best game. I don't know about that but it was his easiest game.

Out of his 4 TDs, 2 TDs were uncontested wide open catches, 1 TD should have been a pick by Davis, and only 1 TD was difficult.
Look how wide open Lamb was on the 4th down TD. Defenders were just standing in a huddle in the middle of the field. It was embarrassing. Bowles was grimacing on the sideline all night and just completely helpless to make any adjustments because he's a total moron who can't think on the spot or process information with any efficiency.

How about the Titans? Are they sticking with Tannehill? They have a good enough coach in a pretty weak division. Jags are still an unknown and who knows how consistent they're gonna be.
Tennessee's quarterback situation is really bad so Brady would be an obvious upgrade but there isn't nearly enough on that roster to interest Brady. If Brady signs there then it tells me that no one else wanted him and he's just desperate to continue playing (and I don't either of those things will be true).

they also have to worry about the division. I don't see the Chiefs falling off soon
I don't think Brady needs to worry about the division so much. He won an awful division this season and it meant nothing in the end. He needs to prioritize putting himself in the best position possible with a talented roster where he can excel as a quarterback.

If Tampa Bay goes after O'Brien then it's an obvious desperate attempt to keep Brady. O'Brien probably won't consider it unless Brady commits to coming back. I don't think there's anyway chance Brady returns to Tampa Bay with Bowles returning as the HC. Plus the team has major personnel problems, they excelled at nothing this season. O-line needs upgrades at 3/5 of the positions. They need more speed and athleticism at the WR position. Their running game needs to be completed overhauled. The defense is mediocre at best. Brady's got 2 seasons left at most so he needs an ideal situation or it won't be worth it and Tampa Bay is nowhere near ideal.

If you really scrutinize the reported possibilities, and the likelihood of it happening, I see LVR as maybe the only spot right now.

Unless Miami is lying about being confident about Tua.

OH MY GOD THOSE MORONS

They kept him even though he was a dead man walking. Wow.

Bowles decided to keep him? They left that decision in the hands of Bowles? WOW! is right. The management of the team this season was a clown show.

Brady is in the catbird seat right now. He can sit back and review his options. I think it might be realistic that He is back in Tampa if they have a decent upgrade at head coach. If not, then he is gone for sure.
The thing is, he has to know he's in decline, and at some level has to be asking himself if he wants to keep playing when he knows it's all down hill from here. The look of pain on his face when he threw that INT last night was intense. The way he smacked his own head showed he knew it was a mistake. Then, just grabbing his knees and sighing. Does he really want to sign up for more of that?

Personally, I think he's done, done, done with Tampa. He's smart enough to know their window is closed.

I think maybe LV can put together a proposal that might be enough to get him to put off FOX for another year.

Gronk is done, done and done. He had a great run, but he's gotten all he can get out of his body.

This is from the same source (@pewterreport) that I quoted after the game last night.

He’s almost definitely out of Tampa unless there’s a totally new coaching staff. But I want him back somewhere and I legitimately don’t understand why anyone who likes Brady wouldn’t want him to keep playing if he can still play at a good to great level with a great team around him. What’s the harm? Why does it seem repulsive to some people?

Which seems unlikely to me. There may be a genuine investment in Tua there. The offense was mostly productive with Tua so I can see them wanting him back. However, the chances of him getting through next without concussions issues seems slim. But I also doubt McDaniel wants to pair himself with a 46-year-old quarterback. Miami seems like a remote possibility at this point.

Bowles should be fired for that decision as well. Just a poorly coached team.
The rationale in the report makes some sense, though. Who do you replace him with? There was no one on the staff any better, and pretty much every other good coach has a gig in the middle of the season. Would LOL'd if they asked Arians to take over on a temp basis, that would have been amusing!

That was his first red zone pick after an NFL record of 410 pass attempts without an INT in the red zone. He said he was just trying to throw it away and underthrew it, which yes, is a really bad mistake. He rarely duplicates his mistakes. This one unfortunately contributed to the end of the season.

Brady threw a CRUSHING endzone pick in the second drive in the 2018 AFCCG against the Chiefs.

Think things still went pretty well for Brady after that.

Bowles looks like a mannequin on the sidelines. No emotions whatsoever

When the strength of your team; which is the defense this season, gets punched in the mouth at home you would think there would be some emotion.
He was the exact same way when he was HC of the NYJ.

If you buy what @pewterreport is saying, Blowes will be back for Tampa next season, it's already decided.

Then they should throw Brady a going away party.

Bringing Toilet Bowles back makes no sense whatsoever. He's totally incompetent, we witnessed it for an entire season. Provided Brady leaves, it really doesn't concern me, the Bucs will be completely awful next season with Bowles, relatively the same roster, and whichever new quarterback.

The OT of that game was one of his greatest postseason moments.

It's a rebuild or reload if you will so you might as well keep the ****ty coach another year or so until you figure out the QB situation. If they want Brady to come back they'd have to bring back BA and get a LT and new DC. I've been saying it for 3 years but that defense sucks and it sucked all 3 years unless the Offense could get a lead. You can't just ignore coverage.

Brady would decline the invite. He didn't want to play for Tampa Bay this season, the contractual obligation forced him into it. I'm sure he's known for awhile that he would be departing Tampa Bay after this season.

I don't much care if Tom plays next season or not, I'm confident he won't be playing for the Patriots and that's my team. I'd kinda like to see him on LV just to see how that would go, but as others suggest, their OL sucks and Tommy doesn't like to be touched never mind hit these days.

He has a decision to make, and all I'm saying is while making that decision he has to be aware of his own decline. Yes, there were plays where it was clearly about him not being on the same page as his WRs, but others were him just not making throws that were routine for him in the past. That's what I've been seeing all season. He has too high a football IQ to suggest he doesn't see it too, and it's not a factor in his decision making.

Why others are repulsed by the idea of him playing is they want to remember the great version of Tom, not the one in decline wearing his third different team jersey. Think of MJ on the Wizards for one example, Favre on the Jete for another. The question on most fan's minds will be: why didn't he just retire?
