I don’t believe in censoring anyone.
I don’t like people who whine and complain. I don’t like “fans” who trash the team, are overly negative and make stupid comments.
When too many of them show up in a place, I don’t stay there.
We reached that point here this year, and then some, so I left.
I noticed Ian wants to enact change so I’ve reconsider but I’ve either returned too soon because the changes haven’t been made, or no changes can fix the nature of a population. Time will tell.

The OL improved from being a dumpster fire to just a dumpster... Yay us!

McDermott helped "stabilize" the RT position, which is more an indictment of the previous RTs than it is a complement of McDermott.

Trent Brown showed-up every game, but was a below-average LT when he did.

The LG-C-RG are who they are, for better or worse.

And the "depth"? Fuhgeddaboutit. Non-existent.

No. There was a reported who “heard he might have talked back” and ignorant ensuing hysteria about something that probably never happened

And I stated that we missed a lot of draft picks in those years, 2 #1s to trade and deflategate, another 2 and 4 to deflategate. But we were also always picking at the end of the round. You'll see a lot more busts that way.

Not necessarily. This is also damning the supposed GOAT GM with faint praise. Drafting at the end of the round didn’t cause the team to pick N’Keal Harry over A.J. Brown, DK Metcalf, or Terry McLaurin. Drafting at the end of the round didn’t cause the Patriots to trade down when they could have had Aiyuk, Pittman, Queen, or Higgins (all positions of need). Getting picks forfeited didn’t cause them to draft Cyrus the Virus when Bradbury was there.

We were never in premium position to take any of the sure things you see in the top half.

2018 Super Bowl had a lot more to do with a defense that wrecked the Rams offense. Trey Flowers and Elandon Roberts in particular were the 2 key guys on defense. Roberts destroyed the Rams O-L over and over.

You know who played bigger roles on that side of the ball? Free agents we had to sign, like Gilmore and JMac and Van Noy because we didn’t have good drafts for the previous 6 years before that Super Bowl.

Gronk was really hurting that year and had to have a year off. In that game, he saved his best for last, but he was largely ineffective until the final minutes. Brady did not have a stellar game either. Jules was obviously fantastic.

All 3 played huge roles in the team even getting to that game. Same with 2016 and 2014.

I believe you are looking for a lot more out of the draft than most teams get. When you have 50% of your draft class (2013) as starters and 2 Pro Bowlers (if you include Malcolm Butler), that's not a bad draft.

Not really. I’m just looking for at least one good to great draft in an 8 year period. Especially from someone who is supposed yo be the GOAT GM. Not a dynasty-ending 8-year period where the drafts were anything ranging from bad to mediocre. Just one good draft in that time period makes a complete rebuild starting in 2020 unnecessary.

As for Dugger, UChe and Onwenu, it would not surprise me to see all 3 in the Pro Bowl soon. Onwenu has already been named to two of the more minor All-Pro teams (ESPN writers, PFF).

Give me the name of one newer (since 2020 when, coincidentally, you started whining about the quality of the board) user who only whines about the team all the time. Just one of them. Using this board would be expected to enhance the experience of being a patriot fan. You enhance the experience by hearing others opinions, insights, learning information etc.
when the place you go to for that is dominated by whining entitled people who really have little clue what they are talking about and seem to revel in rooting against the team, then it detracts from the experience of being a fan.

The board is still that place. The team is just losing. For one reason or another, either you being a fair weather fan or you putting too much of your personal happiness in this team, that’s what changed for you. Once again, that’s a you problem. Not a board problem.

The board still has PFK’s thoughts. The board still has @BaconGrundleCandy’s hard work on the Draft and FA every year. The board still has a pre- and postgame thread where many of the posters who have been here for a decade or more offer analysis about offensive and defensive schemes, personnel, coverage, etc. The board is still the biggest homer pro football message board on the Internet, and it isn’t even remotely close. If that’s suddenly a problem for you, then you either need to get more of a social life or hobbies, or you need to make peace with the fact that you’re just a fair weather. Just to repeat - there is nothing wrong with being a fair weather.

That’s what I did.
I haven’t withdrawn from the patriots a millimeter, I’ve withdrawn from a misery filled, ignorant, whining, subset of people who have taken over the community.

So what is your solution? Boot anyone who says anything negative about the Patriots? Ian might as well just pull the plug on the board. It will die a very swift, and boring, death.

Nah. I think you’re just projecting an inadequacy that should be aimed at the team toward the board. Only you know why that is, but it’s either you being a fair weather fan or you being way too invested in a football team. Those are the only two options. Don’t be ashamed. You’re far from the first over-the-top homer who ran once the team fell back to the pack. You won’t be the last if you decide not to stay (and I hope you do).
