Does Belichick Last Beyond 2023, and What Needs to Happen?

My “sabbatical” wasn’t wasted at all. It was thoroughly enjoy able to not deal with the disaster this place has become because of posters like you. My return was triggered by the prospect of the changes Ian is going to make that will mitigate the damage people like you do to this site. But thanks for your concern.

I hereby rescind my "Welcome back" comment from a previous thread.

Matt Patricia is not throwing 3 INTs in Buffalo.

Matt Patricia called a play that had Devante Parker down the seam for a walk in TD. The ball was underthrown. Parker had to slow down and look back for the ball that hit him in the helmet. Again, the same way the ball was underthrown to Parker in the 1st game of the season @ Miami. Another deep ball for a TD that ran out of gas and was INTed.

Yep... That pass down the deep seam to Parker should've been a TD; but with Corky at QB it was just another INC.

NoodleArm.

I would continue to augment the DL and keep that pass rush together. Barmore, Uche, Wise, Judon. They can damage these offenses with a relentless pass rush. But we need more DL who can give these guys a breather.

If you have a great pass rush, you can more than get by with the 4 CBs that we have (3 Jones & Mills).

Look at the Bengals. They are not nearly as good as we are at CB and they kept both Mahomes/Reid and Stafford/McVay in check. It's because the Bengals D-line disrupted the passing game.

Wrong.

Coach cap beware TunescribeHarry will tar and feather you for that comment.

LOL, true - but they got the ball back two plays later which nullifies your "critical INT" point.
No it doesn't.

So I guess you saw and you didn't like what you found?
I saw Corky slide before the line to gain on 3rd down - AGAIN - and settle for a FG, that's what I f ucking saw, m'kay?

Yes, it sort of does - albeit they got lucky.

He was 5/6 with 2 TDs on Sunday in the Red Zone. And that field goal put us ahead 17-14 until they decided to let another guy return a TD on the ensuing kickoff. I get you don't like Mac, but 14 points on special teams was way too much to overcome. "It is what it is."

Go look at the 2014 2nd round. Outside of Davante Adams and Joel Bitonio, no one else is contributing. 32 guys, only 2 are contributors.

Some of us here thought that Bitonio should've been the OBVIOUS choice back then, too.

I start by realizing that in 2020 we began a rebuild. Unfortunately, we had a year of covid pandemic where not much of anything happened, where we took salary cap hits and signed a vet QB for $1m. It was a lost season.

If it was a lost season - which it was - then why didn't Bill become a Seller at the trade deadline like he Should've Been?

I already know the answer.... Let's see if you do too.

Seller of what and who?

Again, I get you're not happy with him, but you're basically saying to get rid of him now, which we all know isn't happening. That's why I locked two threads and am trying to at least get us talking about changes that are at least somewhat realistic with an eye toward the future.

Yeah and you were Wrong to lock them.

Yeah and you were Wrong to lock them.
It was just a case of the fact there was no point in having a thread talking about firing Bill this offseason when he wasn't going anywhere. So, it's not like I've stifled discussion about his future, I simply figured it made more sense to have a thread like the one we currently have talking about the exact scenario he's in.

I'd say they will be near complete with an OT and LB, more depth at OT.
What if Mccourty retires, they lose Jakobi or Jonathan Jones?

But damn, not alot of holes for a rebuilding team. Not sure any team has that little amount of holes to fill
