Reiss: Jack Jones and Jake Bailey moved to "Reserve/Suspended"

Jack Jones. Dennard started out with a lot of promise as a #2 CB, then he started to have problems with the team. Then he disappeared, got injured and then released.

What about the first rounder that had the two blown knees and the never saw the field...or did for a short while but then was quick and quietly shuffled off?

Easley?

We definitely could have used Bailey WHENEVER he was healthy (which seems to be gray area with BB). Baileys agent said he was ready to go against Buffalo…..and he would have been a difference maker. 29yd punt average from “Sack O’ potatoes” Pacardy…..and Folk couldn’t kick touchbacks……another case where BB got a hair across his ass against a certain player and it comes back to hurt the team

This is a total joke.

So many of the players are on record with the morning guys talking how unified the locker room was despite everything. They came back in a lot of games and they fight hard.

The idea that there is mass dissension in the locker room? Breer is making stuff up.
Do you believe players would publicly tell the media they're having doubts about the coaching staff? How can you take what they say on a microphone as indicative of the true state of the locker room?

I can understand that the team suspended JJ for just cause and rescinded the suspension after he and the agent made amends because they wanted to keep him long term. Bailey situation makes less sense if the agent was telling the truth that he has been ready to play for a couple of weeks. Maybe it is similar in that they suspended him to get his attention because his attitude was not good after the big contract. Hopefully he comes back refocused, punting really hurt the team this year.

So did kickoffs.

This here exactly. Whatever the circumstances, if Bailey was healthy and ready to go against Buffalo, and Belichick opted to instead make the player ineligible, then it's another unforgivable move. I couldn't get past the Butler benching that cost the team a Super Bowl. But here again we may have an instance of Belichick favoring his personal agenda over what's truly in the best interests of the team.

Obviously the two KO returns were huge difference makers in this game. And the KO out of bounds to give Buffalo the ball at the 40. Bailey has the leg for touchbacks which would have wiped out the returns. Folk doesn't have the leg and it burnt the team bigtime. Patriots fans collectively are way overdue for putting the notion of IBWT in the trash can for good. His personally driven decision making has compromised the the team too often now. Welker, Butler, Bailey, Brady, Patricia, Judge, Stephen, Brian...

If the punter was healthy, and little Bill stat him to save the 20k per game roster bonuses AND void his 2023 guarantees, that's a douche move. That'll help attract FA. I wonder if Bailey mouthed off about the money and that's the reason behind the whole thing. Can't wait to hear the outcome of the Bailey grievance.

Not sure I agree with making an example out of him in front of whole team

Goes against the praise in public, reprimand in private motto

Granted nfl locker rooms are different than white collar jobs

Belichick needs to focus more on winning football games on the field. Making an example of JJ in week 18 for what? With the most important game of the season approaching, I'm sure the players didn't need the distraction of one of their teammates being humiliated by the head coach. We've seen this before too, trying to openly humiliate a player.

Who said anything about a microphone?

This comes from insiders that say there is little dissension on this team, who say it's a really good locker room.

Seems like that's what it took to get him and his agent's attention.

Setting aside your long list of grievances...

What if it was that Bailey said he wasn't capable of playing until it was too late? It seems interesting that the suspension came after when Bill said Bailey was past the 21-day window that he could return. Then when he is no longer able to come off of the IR list, Bailey says, "What!?! I was healthy enough to play!"

Easley?
Yes, Easley was awful and people bizarrely thought he was doing better than he actually was. He was the OG of “almost getting to the QB” and got praise for it. Akiem Hicks was lowballed after 2015 because they thought they had this guy to fall back on. Apparently, he became a problem in the locker room and was quickly thrown out of the club.

Well, isn't that Bailey's contention? That he was healthy enough to return within the allotted time? His agent is formerly making that argument. Belichick, in his typically evasive approach, refused to clarify what he called Bailey's "unavailability." Was his unavailability an IR/health issue or because of the suspension? We know the latter for certain because Bailey in fact was suspended, which made him unavailable (for only the most important game of the season). Regarding his health, Bailey and his agent are stating he was ready to play.
