We're on to the OFF-Season

Looks like the Steelers have found another great one in George Pickens.

800 yards and 4 TDs in his rookie season with a 61% catch rate that will only improve.

Selected 2 picks AFTER Thornton who is catching 49% of his targets.

My guess is if the Pats drafted Pickens and the Steelers drafted Thornton (as many suspected they wanted) people would say the Pats should have drafted Thornton because Pickens sucks. For all the debate about how much this coaching staff has affected Mac Jones, I think they have failed Thornton possibly more. Watching him you see many of the basics he is doing wrong that should have been coached out of him already.

I think other names such as brown or taylor are getting contracts much higher than their performance justifies
Also we have a good draft slot and May find a Partner for a trade down because this OT draft class has more quantity than top tier quality
JJ Taylor is overpaid? He's on his rookie deal.

14 isn't a good draft spot, Middle of the pack is better than the Pats have been in a while but not ideally where you want to be during a rebuild.

I heard Denver wanted two 1st round picks for Jeudy

They are not getting anywhere near two firsts for Jeudy. Jeudy is more potential than production. He had a very good season this year considering who was his QB, but he has yet to show he is a difference making WR. You are not giving two firsts rounders for a WR who has never broken the 1,000 yard barrier for a season.

Spot on the money as usual.

You do not order around an 8 time Super Bowl winning coach. BB has earned the right to make decisions right or wrong.
Sure you do. Everyone has to answer to someone and no one is immune to criticism..

Go ahead.

Do people here actually believe that Patricia is working on his own without any direction from BB? BB controls everything with this team.
I think we have a long-enough track record which tells us while BB is a defensive genius, his acumen on the offensive side of the ball is not on the same level.

Can’t wait til the full transcript of Bills meeting with the Krafts goes.
Do you think they will post the full audio on YouTube?

Fire all the Pats coaches and start new.

Troy Brown needs to pack his bags.

jawaan taylor from the jags? Or who are you talking about
and i said new contract will be much higher , i did not speak about their current contract

you can find plenty talent in the 20-40 area of this draft

I dunno. The poster said Taylor was overpaid. JJ Taylor is the only guy on the Pats I could think of.

They say that every year and yet the Pats manage to not pick the right guy there more often than not.

you quoted my post where i spoke about offense tackles in free agency, i never mentioned JJ taylor, so no idea which post you mean sorry

i have hope for this year and i am already excited for the draft

When Belichick does self scouting this week, he should ask himself what was the biggest difference from 2021 to 2022 in this team’s make up. Hint: it is replacing McDaniels with Patricia.

Makes no sense for Pitt to take Thornton.

Dionte Johnson is a small WR just like Thornton. Pickens is a big WR like Claypool who they traded to Chicago. Pickens replaced Claypool.

The Pats were looking for a deep threat and supposedly Thornton has 4.26 speed.

It is time for BB to move on , this from a forever BB apologist, he has gotten a tad too head strong and his persistence has impacted this team. He can still be some sort of football advisor for Kraft & the Patriots if he wants to stay involved. Patricia should move upstairs in an Ernie Adams type role, fire Cam Achord & Joe Judge.

My suggested Coaching Line Up:
Jerrod Mayo HC, a lot of folks think this is folly but promoting from within for what seems to be a league wide interest in him, is a good move.
Steven Belichick Ass't HC, Defensive Coordinator
Offensive Coordinator, have heard Nick Caley is worthy of consideration, if not someone who is familiar with the Pats system.. not much good installing a third offense in 3 years, tweak this one
QB Coach, desperate need for a coach who can help and keep Mac Jones focused and prepared.

Lots more holes to fill ST Coordinator, LB Coach, RB Coach and various other coaches.. the Pats have been too lean in the coaching dept. for a while now.
I think he should stay if he makes seismic changes, but I just don't think he will. All we will get is a couple new coaches and we will go into next year with basically the same group of players. I'd expect a wild card spot next year, but we are a long way off competing for an AFC title. Just like last year with Josh as OC - so basically we are treading water rather than progressing in a rebuild.

Scenario: You're the owner of a business (Kraft) and the man you have running your business operations (Belichick) tells you that a once exemplary employee (Brady), is no longer fit to help the business succeed. So you trust him, and let the star worker leave. But he moves to a new business (Tampa) and helps them succeed far beyond your own business' current perfomance.

Ok, somewhat embarrassing, but you're a patient man so you give your business manager 4 years to prove he was right. After 4 years your business has gone backwards and sunk far below the performance levels of when your star worker was there. How long would you wait until deciding that maybe you shouldn't have let your star worker leave, and that you should fire your operations manager for ineptitude?

Remember, in this scenario you're a billionaire owner. You don't become one unless you have a ruthless nature. Unless of course you're allowing sentiment and age to cloud your judgement.

Unreal.

Some names to keep an eye on:

porter or addison i would take in a heartbeat. the rest at pick 14 not so much
Skor and Branch aren't the type of players we need for our o-line and defensive backfield imo..

Maybe I missed or forgot it, but don’t remember seeing Thornton blow by a CB. Not blaming him . . .

It’s the Krafts’ team and they pay his salary. Im sure BB understands the chain of command.
