Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Bills beat the Pats

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Lastly, we have never allowed promoting the use of any illegal streaming. This is illegal and will be enforced by copyright holders, which puts this site at risk. DO NOT POST ANY LINKS to those platforms.

This also means, there absolutely cannot be any mention these platforms, spaces, special characters, etc. - so do not get creative in trying to work around this request.

If you do you will have your account suspended.

I do not have the means to deal with legal issues and have already been contacted previously, so this absolutely needs to be adhered to. If you see any illegal links, please report them so a mod can remove them.

I believe she is a fine moderator and here's why: (1) she is a fiercely dedicated, diehard fan of this team (No. 1 requirement), (2) moderating is a demanding, time-consuming, thankless job that's purely voluntary, (3) she makes herself available putting in more than required time/effort; that includes informative, timely team updates, (4) NOBODY can or should be expected to fill that capacity on this site without ruffling feathers one way or another -- the very definition of "damned if you do/damned if you don't" and (5) whatever complaints people might feel justified making against her, the positives she brings outweigh the negatives, including keeping egregiously blatant trolling (which we see plenty of) in check.

I've had my own head-scratching moments regarding all of this site's moderators over the years, including those currently aboard. But those willing to do the work are hard to find and the service they provide, however heavy-handed it might seem at times, is essential to preventing chaos. In that respect, I believe @ashley and @Ross12 deserve a VERY wide berth, as well as our appreciation.

True the have the better record, won’t say they’re the better team. I’d take NE in a rematch all day.

of course you'd approve, they ban everyone Birdboy disagrees with

Yeah, I wish I had that kind of power. You'd be he first to go, if for no other reason than being this site's No. 1 whining weenie.

Birdboy??? Whining Weenie? Have I suddenly fallen into the Insult Zone?...well...all I have to say is Ross is no flagmaker, betsy on it...

I don’t think it’s really my place to dig into most of these points considering my own role but I also don’t want to just ignore you, especially when I quoted you first.

Thank you for being overall respectful in your criticisms here. I think that insulting or otherwise crapping on other people here is just not the way to go. I felt your original post leaned in that direction since it was just calling someone terrible without anything else said - this second post is obviously a lot more detailed. Of course, it’s a two way street and one of your own criticisms here includes the same concept in regards to folks being called trolls. I understand your point of view.

Not going to say not to voice your concerns or that this should be a private message since as far as I’m concerned, moderators are “public figures” here so we should expect to be criticized. Just have had too many instances of posts that amount to nothing more than insults or personal attacks lately which drag things down so much IMO. Hate that. Sorry I can’t really engage in much dialogue with you on the rest of this, just doesn’t feel appropriate to me. But if you have concerns of any kind with myself and my conduct or if you feel any of the above complaints apply to me as well please do let me know.
Moderators should be emotionally detached and non-biased. She is not. At all!!! You are not either, but more so than she is.

You both seem to be very nice people and good posters.

You talking about this #1 level WR?

You mean the WR sitting on 10,000+ receiving yards and 81 career TDs? You picked the wrong dude to cherrypick one missed play.

The Patriots haven't had a guy the level of Mike Evans since Randy Moss graced the uniform.

In any case I'm very doubtful Tampa Bay would trade either Godwin or Evans unless they were going into total rebuild mode and even then the starting price would be a 1st round pick+. I doubt BB gives up that type of draft capital for a WR. Instead watching him draft the next Bethel Johnson or N'Keal Harry. That's more his speed.

No. She takes advantage of her pulpit.

I’ll certainly admit I am not as emotionally detached as I was prior to this year. It’s tough. Being a member for a while and then becoming a mod, you don’t want to change who you are too much, but I did try to walk the line for the past several years. I was probably more terse this season than in prior seasons. I’ll keep your feedback in mind in the future, thank you for sharing it.

They need to shed a ton of cap space, which is why I brought up the idea in the first place. Evans is probably not going anywhere since moving him barely helps their finances at all, but Godwin seems like he has at least some potential. Brady will be long gone and they need to dump $50M just to get under the cap, so I have a hard time imaging that they’re not in some level of a rebuild next season. Makes me think Godwin could be had, but they’d certainly want good compensation to get their roster rebuilt for it. I could see them shipping out several guys for picks.

And these perceived shortcomings have negatively impacted your experience here exactly how?
Do you want an honest answer or do you want to argue? Here is the former.

A mod getting in scrums and calling people out, sometimes for things that don’t seem to merit it at all, and coming across as super emotional, does not seem very mod-y to me. That takes away from a board that I would like to think of as a generally neutral place. Like we posters can bicker and be jerks, but when the bosses jump in, it just ruins it all for me. Like, this boss is playing favorites. Even if I don’t like who she is playing favorites against… it doesn’t seem fair and it makes me want to leave this place for the 18th time haha.

Like me, she is biased and over emotional. And like me, she should not be a mod.

Tune, I think you’re awesome, for real.

I think you’re a great poster and are doing your thankless job really well.

I get you're in a tough spot concerning this particular subject and in general here when speaking on this. So I understand, fair enough. I'm not trying to ruin anyone's day.
I'm really not trying piling on or be mean. I'm not trying to run this place rather give my thoughts on a place I enjoy coming to.

I'm not trying to read ****post after ****post about Bill bc I respect him and its not productive but we're a mediocre team post-Brady. We have some good posters here that might be justified going after Bill, recent moves, results and what they think we should do moving forward. Their takes, thoughts and ambition to do so shouldn't be met with hesitancy bc the atmosphere doesn't allow it. We don't want to live in a bubble, man. Even of you're pro Bill in general it shouldn't be forbidden to go after his ass in terms of how we should approach the immediate future.

I said a few times before and I think it pertains here. Bill will always be the smartest guy in the room but at some point he won't be the smartest guy in the room and the best guy to coach this team. I think it's fair to explore that.

Im not at "lets fire him" yet and probably wont be but a few things are extremely concerning. Bill was always a big "don't ignore the obvious" guy. He had no problem telling you what you're good and bad at as brutally as can be. That's not what we've seen lately in terms of personnel and coaching moves (usage of Bourne, vertical hot routes, inconsistent offense with Patricia etc) Stuff that's not worked or things like Bourne not playing when he's clearly our best or second best WR. Then you look into the undisciplined nature of the team. Allocation of resources (TE/WR position for example)
Again not calling for his head but we're not any closer now than 3 years ago. I think some constructive criticism and feedback is more than ok.

I'd like to see this team spread out the responsibilities more. Strict OL & QB Coach etc no double duties. Not sure if OB is my first choice but I'd take him over Patricia in a second.
Personally I'm not Mac's biggest but want to run it back with a deeper line and upgrade at tackle. Hopefully Strange takes a step. Maybe upgrade from Andrews but I think he's a little better than people give him credit for.
Call Indy, SF, Cinci, Denver, everyone with a WR capable of stepping up into a WR1 spot. Higgins, Pittman, Aiyuk, Jeudy all would have WR1 #'s with more targets so I'd start there.
Defense doesn't translate but Bill can still put together a squad and we have a bunch of pieces there. So I'm hopeful we can put something even better together with Uche getting more PT. Get a real outside CB1 and our secondary could be special.

We're a middle of the pack team that needs to make some big moves. Like I mentioned Denver is someone I'd be calling for Jeudy, Hamler and Surtain. I'd love to add him to this secondary. Jack should some real flashes but also has a lack of play strength and size that can't be ignored rn. Maybe even Carolina for Moore and Horn.

Lastly I don't want to make it seem like I'm backtracking when the man pressures me but I don't want to be an ******* to women either. Deep down I'm a mommas boy. So let me say, I say a lot of things with humor and sarcasm involved. I can like someone and think they're "terrible" at something at the same time. I'm really not that serious and can appreciate or not lol, different qualities someone has. We can agree in some areas and think each other are crazy in others. I'm sure @ashley is a great person. Certainly a passionate Pats fan. And I genuinely, 100% love the positive attitude she haves about the team.

Arguing is low on my list of interests. I appreciate your honest answer but speaking honestly myself, and as someone who spends more time here than you, your complaint feels overstated in context of the good work that moderator provides on balance. I don't know if you've noticed the latter or care about it as much as what you're complaining about. Which is not to say your concerns entirely lack merit, I just think in this case that throwing the baby out with the bathwater would be ill-advised. Moderators willing to voluntarily put in the time don't grow on trees and unfortunately, they all happen to be human.

And I think you're awesome too, PJ ... XOXO

Can't argue with that, but it's fun to cherry pick because the drop was so incredibly bad (and he's had a few - including a horrendous 6 in one game, but all WRs have them - heck even with 6 drops he got 8 catches 150yds on 19 tgts).

I'd say Gronk is at a much higher level, but I know you mean WR.

fire patricia
for the special teams coach
fire judge
bring in actual coaches next year
replace agholar
we're stuck with both tight ends maybe find someone that knows how to utilize them.
We need a new punter
we need someone that can kick the ball through the endzone on kick offs.

Lots of work needed for this team.
They should have made a ceremony of firing the special teams coach on the field.
