I spent about 2 minutes on youtube and found 3. I am sure that you can find more if you want, but it was indeed rare, due to Walsh's preferences. It's a coach specific thing, at least back then. Landry, for example, LOVED the shotgun, but it didn't get Danny White into the GOAT conversation. However you line up, you still have to make the plays.

My own gut feeling is that the running game options are severely limited in the shotgun, so, while you have perhaps more time to survey the defense, the defense is also better equipped and is expecting to defend the pass.

You could fix your lie, but based on your posting history, I know that you won't. Or you will claim that he had 3 shotgun snaps, since I only showed you three, based upon 2 minutes of perusing youtube Montana highlights.

edit: I see, "rare"

Niiiiiiice...

I just posted a quote from Montana. So the point remains that there is a vast difference between the percentage of snaps Brady had while under shotgun compared to Montana's. Perhaps Walsh should have tailored the West Coast offense to allow for more shotgun. Whatever.

I see you didn't respond to the rest of my signature regarding Montana and Brady's super bowl quarterback rating.

In any event, this thread is about Pats-Bills. so let's move on.

It's us against the world, for sure.

Wish it wasn't at 1PM, since the Miami game will be on the tube where I live. Imagine the audience if it were the night game!

The thing is what way is not playing the Pats/Bills game the right thing?

This isn't the first time someone has been seriously injured in an NFL game. I get why no one want to keep playing after seeing someone literally almost die on the field. And I also posted a link that a Target store shut down for the day after experiencing a similar event.

But come on people don't even get a week off work when family members die.
It's the right thing to make it the Bills choice in the same way it is the right thing for employers to offer bereavement time off if family members die.

Do you think it's right that people don't get a week off when the family members die? The person who doesn't get time off when a family members die is being treated poorly (or for the sake of this response wrongly). Using an example of a person being treated incorrectly for a basis of why it's not wrong to treat another poorly doesn't make sense.

Shouldn't we as a society strive to make things better for people rather than say, life was hard for me so why shouldn't life be hard for other people in the same way?

It's not the first time someone has been seriously injured on a football field, but I do believe it's the first time someone has needed to be given CPR to stay alive on the football field. The amount of people who won't let their kids play football because they have seen how dangerous it is has increased a lot since I played in HS. From a business perspective the danger of the game is a threat to the long term viability of the league (probably not in 5 or even 10 years but maybe in 20 ,30 or 50), so the league absolutely can't be seen as not caring about the danger of the game. Forcing the Bills to play when they aren't ready is not just wrong it's bad business because it could turn away future customers.

edit- Since it was just reported that Hamlin is making steady progress I do expect the game to go on as planned.

On the relatively rare (relative to TB12) instances that Montana was good enough to make it to the Super Bowl, he indeed performed exceptionally well. Montana's 4 best postseasons would be better than Tom's, at least arguably. But why stop at 4, unless you're trying your best to bias the analysis? Compare the 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 etc. best postseasons.

It's cute, really, to argue against TB12 not being the GOAT.

But it's clear, factually, that TB12 has even passed the SUM TOTAL of both Montana & Young's careers, in accomplishments, at this point.

So Damar has made "remarkable improvement", Bills are practicing and game is on.
So I guess that means we can all stop arguing. Right?
(suppressing rolling-on-floor huge belly laughter)

Why are you bringing all this up in this thread? You really think Brady could hang with the Giants, Redskins, and Bears teams in the NFC of the 80s? LOL. Brady lost to the worst super bowl winning team ever in the 2007 NYG.

Take this to another thread, or PM me about. I'll end up getting blamed.

'No contest' meaning the game is wiped off the schedule entirely. Each team has a 16 game schedule for the 2022 season.
Yes I understand what "no contest" means. And given the way the AFC playoff race has played out thus far, declaring Buffalo/Cincy a "no contest" is the equivalent of giving Buffalo a loss and Cincy a win.

My ignore list gets another entry. Even the deranged Jets fan trolls never made my list

someone tell me if MAC10 ever says something useful.

But what if the cardiac event was caused by a undiagnosed heart condition unrelated to football?

I'm really sorry if your feelings got hurt.

He had a cardiac event immediately after making a tackle in a football game... you think that is by coincidence?

I mean sure maybe he had some undiagnosed condition that was triggered by playing football.

Take the Brady v Montana BS someplace else. This is Pats V Bills. Neither of those guys are playing in that game Sunday.

To your point, most of the tragic incidents we've seen in sports were the result of preexisting conditions in the athletes, whether diagnosed or not,i.e.
Reggie Lewis,Hank Gathers etc. The exception is boxing, where many have died as a direct result of the sports violence.
It was a routine play. For that hit to have caused his heart failure, a bunch of different things would've had to happen all at exactly the same time, which h doctors say is unlikely, but possible.
But in Damars case, we'll probably never know until an autopsy is done hopefully many, many years from now.

NEM's nephew, DKF's cousin?
We keep adding family members to that little cabal and someone's going to have to host a reunion somewhere warm...Havana maybe?

It's us against the world, for sure.
If KAN wins on Saturday, which is likely, then Buffalo might back off this game a little bit. With the likelihood of the Bills-Bengals game being cancelled, once KAN wins, the Bills will be out of the running for the #1 seed. From there Buffalo needs to weight the importance of the #2 seed over the #3 seed against additional rest (physically, mentally and emotionally). If BUF loses, and CIN wins, then BUF is the #3 seed.

Here's the difference for the probable wild card matchups (assuming KAN gets the #1 seed)...

BUF and CIN both win or lose or BUF wins and CIN loses =
BUF vs NWE, MIA or PIT
CIN vs BAL (or less likely LAC)

BUF loses and CIN wins =
CIN vs NWE
BUF vs BAL
(This outcome also sets up a potential divisional matchup BUF @ CIN.)

So the question may become who does BUF prefer to face in the WC? Also with keeping in mind that possible trip back to Cincinnati. It seems to me, that even with KAN winning on Saturday, BUF would be in a much better spot with a win against NWE and the #2 seed. But we'll find out how they approach it on Sunday.
