YouTube TV in the lead for Sunday Ticket (UPDATED: Deal is Official)

DirecTV breaks it up over 5 months I think, so they basically add $60 a month to the bill. Hopefully YouTube TV would do the same. I'd be good with that, because it would mean I don't have to spend another $150 a month for the service and the additional equipment charges, which is significantly higher than the $65 a month YouTube TV would be (it would essentially be $125 per month).

My monthly bill with DirecTV (and I have the base service they permit to get this package) is like $205.00 per month. Which is ridiculous, especially since we don't really watch TV.
I get most of the Patriot games locally even though I don't live in New England BUT those I don't get I've been watching on a tablet and sometimes casting it to my TV.

The app makers for Android / Windows still haven't figured out how to beat the FakeGPS app which tricks tablets and phones into thinking you live in Scituate.

Amazon cut theirs down to where there's hardly any lag between the game and the play-by-play. So that would also be my only concern. Hate seeing the play result pop up before it happens on TV.
It’s weird, my phone is about as “live” as cable I believe…not sure why there’s more lag on the tv, but I am also technology illiterate

Not sure, although it might just be the time it takes to cast. We have a Roku on each of our two TVs, so we run everything directly off that.

Ya one of my tvs is a Roku, and it has less lag than my Samsung…it’s so bizarre. But getting texts and fantasy updates like 2 seconds before the play is annoying. But overall, YouTube tv has been really good

We had YouTube TV for a while, and then I switched to Hulu Live because it was a little cheaper in the Disney bundle we were in. We were happy with either, so we're more than happy to switch back if this does go through. As I said, can't wait to get this satellite equipment out of here

I have another problem all together. I have a 3 TV set up. My father used to have 5 and the dish. I never got the dish and used my sister in laws school email address to get the stream for the package but it would only let one device stream at a time. Limiting the effectiveness of the 3 TVs to one getting the package and the other two getting set to networks or red zone. I like to chose the 3 best games and watch them like a bar set up would.

Any idea how many devices can stream YouTube TV at once?

Up to 3 on one account, I believe. However, you can share it with 5 family members.
For $20/month you get unlimited streams and 4k or something like that, doesn't seem worth it but thought I'd mention it.

So that's YouTube premium, which is different than YouTubeTV. YouTubeTV costs $64 per month and you get most of the channels you would with cable.

No, that's Youtube TV which I've had for 4 years.

ok thanks. i guess it’s an add on. my youtubeTV basic is good enough - not sure the 4K is worth it.

All I want to know with any of these streaming services:

1. Do I get the local games? Celtics, Bruins, Patriots, UConn
2. Can I get Red Zone?
3. Can I get NFL Network?
4. Can I get ESPN?

I am pretty sure you get all the local stations through YouTube TV. I am not sure how they determine it, but it could be your billing address.

And YouTube TV has packages the same way any cable provider does. NFL Network and ESPN are standard. Red Zone is an add on.

One step closer to getting this dish off my roof

we were just talking about switching from DIRECTV to YouTube TV but the Sunday Ticket would have to be sacrificed. Looks like our problems might be solved soon.

You don’t get NESN on YouTube tv, which is really the only big miss imo.

Youtubetv is awesome. I haven’t missed a Pats game in years and I live in Nashville. Android and gps spoof is amazing.

Any idea what its going to cost?
PFT suggests it'll have a similar price to DirectTV's offering

I think it is good u2b appears to be getting the contract, google is behind them and u2b service is very reliable.

It won't matter much to me, though, as long as the Pats games stay on over-the-air TV in the Boston market.

Overall I find myself watching less football rather than more, so don't feel the need for Sunday Ticket.

IMO NFL is over-saturating the market with too many games (Thu and now Sat).

I've only watched one of the Thu games even though I'm already an Amazon Prime customer.

Yes please. I used to have direct tv JUST for sunday ticket but after awhile I said F it. I have youtube tv. Nothing is ever making me go back to cable.

I've been using YouTubeTV for several years now. I have never had any buffering issues as it seems to require only about 3 MBps, which might even work for DSL. The main reason I got this over Hulu+Live TV or FuboTV is the DVR function. I can record unlimited shows and they are kept for a year. I can watch/delay watch/re-watch Pats & Celtics games all I want, all while skipping over commercials & halftime. YouTubeTV did have NESN in the beginning but NESN wanted too much money for a "local" network so they dropped it.

About the only negative for me is that it determines your local network channels by your IP address and that forced me to have all the Portland, ME channels. I miss WCVB's news in the morning. Well, I do miss the Bruins, but I'm not paying $30/month for NESN+. When you see that price, you sorta understand why YouTubeTV dropped them.
