Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Raiders beat the Pats

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

My god that last play is going to be more scrutinized than the Zapruder film. “Patricia clapping” etc. Stevenson got reckless and lateraled to Meyers hoping to extend the play. Meyers panicked and lost his mind throwing the ball back across the field towards the worst athlete on the field not listed as an OLineman. Stuff happens. This team was and is going nowhere fast with or without that play.
Why does Patricia raise his arms in victory when Meyers passes the ball? Is that how he acts when he's in shock?

Looking at the last play of the game more closely, it doesn't look like this was a series of improvised moves.

Meyers follows Rham closely. Rham knows Meyers is behind him and casually flips it back almost in a no look fashion. Meyers was expecting it and instantly looks back to pass it to Mac.

Did Mac go rogue and call this play in the huddle after the draw play was called in from the sidelines? Why is Patricia clapping on the sideline after the Rham lateral? Why does he raise his arms in victory after Meyers makes the backward pass? Hmm, something doesn't make sense.

I just watched this again closely, Patricia is literally clapping, and then straight cheering, when Meyers throws it?!?

Patricia's reaction on the sideline is bizarre and comical. He looks elated when Meyers tosses that backward pass like Mac was going to catch it and scamper for a 55-yard TD. I'd like to see the full sideline shot of the coaches reactions. They should have been screaming for Meyers to just kneel down. Patricia is literally clapping when he sees Meyers running the wrong way.

How about the play call? Completely stupid. If that's your plan, run up the middle, then just take a kneel down so something completely ridiculous doesn't happen. And Belichick saying after game he didn't call for a hail mary because Mac couldn't throw the ball that far... probably wasn't the best answer.

I see the clapping from Fat Matt, then I see the arms go up, which might also be interpreted as "WTF are you doing?" instead of happiness.

Guys, it was over when Raiders tied it with that NFL-assisted TD call.
Why? Because the stats don't lie, when the opponent scores over 20, we lose.
And that's not a knock on the D, it shows how useless our O is.

or maybe Patricia did first smart thing of the season and played LV defense in his fantasy league and was cheering on his win?

I agree with B. Trade or cut A and C through H. Start over.

He's cheering, smiling. Normal reaction is putting your hands on your head for a WTF moment or flinging your arms back. He raises his arm in a sign of victory.

No, he's definitely overcome with excitement... like that's the way he drew up the play. More evidence that Patricia is an absolute moron.

Like other posters have stated, I am ok with a rebuild, what bothers me is how undisciplined this team plays. Ex. Can't get plays in on time, poor special teams, bad clock management etc. I have to think after the way the team lost yesterday, Bob K will be having a long meeting with BB after the season.
I actually think the substance of that "meeting" will be pretty short:
"You've done great things for us.
"We compensate you very well and we also do understand full well that we can never repay you adequately for making our Franchise what it is and what it's worth today.
"But, you've got to fix this mess.
"Tell us what you need from Jonathan and myself and we'll give it to you.
"Just fix it.
"We can revisit this next December.
"Happy New Year, Bill."

Is Fat Mattress still coaching on our team? Matt Jones...13-31...112 yards.

C'mon...what is this a high school offense?

serious question now.
Presuming BB either retires, or brings in new/legit OC and staff to reset offense. what's the best available QB option:
1 - stick with Mac
2 - FA Jimmy G
3 - FA Baker
4 - FA Heinike
5 - commit to Zappe
6 - risk another 1st round pick

What is happening here? Why is Mac throwing to Rham in the flat when there's a WR wide open for an easy TD along left sideline? Can't get a better pocket than that. Come on man.

F-ing sandlot football. Jesus.

What's it with all this making coaches know all positions and doing whatever job comes up i.e. offence this week and if BB junior is off sick, we can get Matt back on defence? F*** that. God forbid I get a life threatening illness one day, but if I do I'd want to see a "specialist". Someone whose who life remit is to "specialise" in curing people of some specific illness. I wouldn't go to the quack who treats my illness on Tuesdays, runs a Verruca clinic on a Wednesday and Thurs through Sunday works as a dentist. Sick of BB thinking he's ahead of the curve. Those days are over.

No reasonable person should have expected Mac to take down Chandler Jones there... He was caught by surprise and was therefore out of position relative to his balance & leverage, all of which he would've needed just to have a chance...

My issue is: Why no Hail Mary attempt? This is the Christmas season, after all...
The last thing I want there is a Hail Mary attempt.

Not with Connor McDermott on the field.

Yeah. I agree top to bottom. Hope you didn't think otherwise. "On to 2023" is the mantra. let every player have a chance to show what he can do over the next few cames. Clean out the Coaching Staff...whether that should include BB, i'm not prepared to say, but, Offense, Defense and Special Teams all need new leadership.
Nope I knew you meant that. Only point is it doesn't matter.

Yea I'm not at "Fire BB" but I am at the point where Orchids of Asia Bonvoy Elite Awards Member and Jonathan have a serious sit down with BB and have some very difficult discussions.
