Don’t the last two drafts give you increased confidence that instead of the guys you listed they will draft guys like Marcus and Jack Jones?

I don’t think teams necessarily need to have high picks to be able to rebuild through the draft. I think in a rebuild it’s more important to stack good drafts year after year which they have started to do.
It's also 3 drafts when you consider Dugger, Onwenu, Uche and Jennings. In fact, we talk about the last 2 drafts, but the one from 3 years ago could yield 3 Pro Bowlers.

Pats would've had a 64% chance at the playoffs w a win today....the loss dropped them to 22%....what a collapse

64% chance of making the playoffs, with a W today

22% chance of making the playoffs, after the L today

It was just another opportunity where Mac came up short. Is he a football player or not? Punters make tackles. Mac is over 6 feet tall. Odds aren't in his favor but he still failed miserably.

Jeez, in similar situations, Brady rarely made tackles and people would say we don’t want him risking hurting himself by trying to make a tackle.

And a lot of kickers and punters don’t make tackles in this situation and if they do, it is a returner not a DE they are tackling. Big difference in tackling a 180-200LB return specialist and a 265LB DE.

Seriously, do you think it is harder to tackle 175 lb Marcus Jones or 265 lb Chandler Jones?

And I thought the first and goal sequence of plays in the first quarter was going to be the worst thing I saw this season from the Patriots…
First team to get stopped by Oakland on 1st and goal inside the five all season. A score there means kneel downs at the end instead of the Meyers pick-six.

Yes, it was a good throw, especially in a tight window

3 feet over his head is a gross exaggeration, you're right
Which throw are we talking about. I watched a throw that was way off to HH that he wasn't able to coral.

Bill Parcells won a super bowl with a backup quarterback, he took Quincy Carter to the playoffs...
Hostetler was better than at least half of the QBs in the league that year. Many thought he was better than Simms.

Belichick took the Mac Jones Pats and the Testeverde Browns to the playoffs. That Browns team beat Parcells’ Patriots in the playoffs.

that's pathetic, but that's what this team has become

I know we’re all a bit upset. But if you watch the Bucs play every game being a Brady homer like me, you will thank your lucky stars we have BB. Tampa is a complete train wreck of incompetency.
I have always viewed those six super bowls was the result of the pairing Belichick and Brady, one needed that other. Like Lennon and McCartney or Jagger and Richards

With @ Indy , Lambs at home and @ Bronks I would tend to agree.

MIA needs to lose out and we need to go 2-1.
If Pats would've won their PO chances would've been 64%. Now the chances are 22%. No chance.

The one on the second to final series

Here is the bottom line.

The Pats QB play is not good enough and the team is winning by unconventional methods. That is why you saw that wacky play tonight. Meyers was just trying win by a miracle because everyone can see that the NE offense is dysfunctional. It does not execute the pass plays that are there to be made. So, the Pats have to resort to running the ball when passing is the only sensible option. This QB cannot be trusted though.

That is where the Pats are unfortuentky every game cobbling together a way to eek out win.

BB is a defenseive mastermind for sure and Tom Brady is an offensive savant, so I think I would have to agree with you there.

I've watched every Pats game since 1967; that had to be the worst single play in Patriots history because it combined uncoached idiocy with impact (loss of a chance at a playoff spot). I've been a BB booster -- hell I went to high school with him -- but his complacency and cronyism and nepotism is just too much to watch. Time for a change. I guess Shula deserves to keep his wins record to bookend with with his undefeated season.

At least something like this didn't happen in a SB.

Could you imagine?
