Bill would still 100% find a job. And the truth is if he has a good roster and the team has decent cap management he would make them playoff level contenders.
Short term no. Longterm yes.
The best chance Belichick has of passing Shula is with NE. Why would he take the risk of going somewhere else and failing. That'll just reinforce the TB > BB talk. His legacy is cemented. Kraft isn't going to fire him outright. He'll give Bill the option to resign/retire and Bill will take it. He's in his 70s. He's got nothing else to prove. He probably knows he's not winning another SB. At his winning % since 2020, it'll take him 3.7 seasons to reach Shula.
Reid was 55 when he went to KC. He also wasn't demanding to be the GM. Do we really believe that Bill will go somewhere else to work under another GM? That would be like a demotion to him. Hell, if that's the case why not just offer Kraft to hire a GM and he'll stay here as the HC. He won't do it.
Bill has been an average coach with this roster, so no I wouldn't be in for a rude awakening. A creative offensive minded HC could do better with this roster.
What's also is being forgotten is Mac's in his rookie deal, each season is pivotal as far as a franchise to either pick up his 5th year option or to know if he's your Guy.
I think Groh is the guy now.
That is right Parcells wanted bills role is why Parcells left NE. Bill wouldn't take the NE job unless he had the GM/coach role. Bills system worked fine until he decided to change the offense.. and have unqualified individuals running it. I can't even tell you what the heck you can even call this offense.
Why? He's got a guy that made the most historic play in superbowl history as he tells it.. all those facts you put out there just further proof BB was ignoring the draft scouts and experts. Either he makes the changes needed for the good of the team like he always said or ownership will do it for him
I've been trying to stress this for a while, Groh was put in position by ownership. Groh as they say is a excellent talent evaluator, I of course think BB is also, but he ignores what the scouts report.
The roster is fine add a few pieces on offense and defense and were right there..

Folk won't be around much longer either. Not to belittle kickers or punters but they'll figure that out. On the list of needs it's not something I stress. 4 or 5 on each side of the ball is not accurate on defense at all. They are really good despite whatever you might be worried about.
To clarify, meaning the current roster is ok. Need to add some peices of course to make this roster play off caliber. No NFL team is great at every single position.
He is part of his staff, however put in a big position of player personnel by ownership. Even though GMs can choose thier staff ownership still has say on who,what, when, where and why!
Bill the coach as they say has been the same... it's the coaches under him. I'm sure Patricia and judge maybe in other facets good coaches. However offense is the most important part of the ball. Need to score ,have to keep pace with other teams. They should have no part of the offense. As you stated a creative OC is Sorely lacking.
Respectfully, I totally disagree on this one. This roster isn't that great and I think it's probably a badly constructed roster which is on Bill, that looks better than it is on paper because Bill is a great coach. Especially the defense. You get an average coach in there, and this defense plays to their skill level without Bill's scheming.
If you add some elite pieces on offense, and at least one on defense your talking about a playoff caliber team.. O line is the most concerning as they have been bad this season.
