Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

I'm glad TB12 got to get a few exciting 4thquarter comebacks this year but lets not pretend this team isn't dogshit. The offense can't move the ball, sucks on 1st down, can't score, can't convert 3rd downs. It's been the same all year. When you see how they move the ball in natural 2 min offense you know the problem is confidence and coaching. It won't be fixed this year. For the real tampa fans I guess you can hope they fire some people in the offseason but lets not kid ourselves, what do we care about that.

Defense nearly blew the chance of it happening on that 3rd & 17 too. Keanu Neal turning himself into a missile is what forced that catch incomplete.
I thought for sure they were going to flag that one. The NFL tends to reflexively throw the flag on hard hits these days, clean or not.

Yeah, they looked like absolute trash up until the Bucs went tempo. It’s going to take Leftwich changing as a play-caller in order for the offense to improve. The OL can’t give Brady time for vertical routes throughout the entire game, which Leftwich seems dead set on doing every single week.

Veronika Rajekt was at last night's game wearing a Tom Brady game jersey.

They should go no huddle every other drive to keep the defenses off balance but it won't happen. The 'head coach' has said he's worried about tiring out the defense. He's worried about TB12 throwing INTs with the game on the line so he won't use timeouts. He's so worried about making sure his side of the ball looks decent that he's hurting the already bad offense. The play sequencing and calling is bad on top of it. They are a bad team and the defense is mediocre. Once they play a real QB this team has about 0% chance.

After analyzing the game the Bucs still have a lot of issues to figure out. At this point they should run no huddle more often it is much smoother. The defense did it's job without key starters. Those 1st down runs up the middle have got to stop

I thought Rachade White already had a receiving TD from Brady, but no yesterday was his 1st. He is the 97th receiver to have caught a TD from him.

Their up-tempo offense is pretty clearly their go to. We should be seeing a lot more of it going forward.
Would be nice, but while Brady thrives when the game is played at a high tempo it seems to scare Bowles sh* tless

I don’t care what their record is. When they get healthy nobody will want to play this team in January.
I hadn't realized their left tackle lead the league penalties. Did I hear that right or was it lead the team?

We’re in December the media has hammered leftwhich away with questions about the runs they won’t go away and neither will the stupid ass screens. How do you not throw one pass to the end zone on three downs from the 10 yard line

Smith leads the NFL in penalties.

Yeah, leave the "avoiding picks" stuff to TB12 himself. He is one of the best in the history of the game:

Yeah, still major coaching issue but there is hope they can still get something going despite it.

I remember 2019, the offense got worse and worse as the year went along. There was nothing Brady and McDaniels could do as the talent was so bad. To compound it, the defense fell back to earth.

Fast forward to 2022, the offense has been stuck in neutral all year and it can't get any worse. Most of the miscues are self inflicted. The talent is there to get it fixed and they are getting healthier. Also, the defense has been consistently good for the most part. They still have a potential winning combination.

This is where the Bucs miss Arians and his more aggressive approach. No question BA would be telling Leftwich the offense has to be up-tempo far more often than it has been. Bowles is clueless and he definitely should avoid having any say over the offense.

As great as this comeback was, the 49ers top ranked defense is next. Based on the first 3.5 quarters last night when the offense was predictable and ineffective, against a good Saints defense, you have wonder how the Bucs offense will be able to function against a great defense. I suspect they'll start out with the same old garbage but they'll be much quicker to shift to the up-tempo. That's the obvious move, right?

I touched on this in the main forum but I'll add here about the Bucs rookie TEs. Firstly we can dispel any notion of Brady being unwilling to work with rookies (see production of White, Otton and Kieft). Secondly, look the TEs, their draft positions, and their production so far...

Cade Otton (4th rd) and Ko Kieft (6th rd)
38 receptions
378 yards
3 TDs

Compared with the TEs taken by Belichick in the 2020 draft...

Devin Asiasi (3rd rd) and Dalton Keene (3rd rd)
combined career totals
5 receptions
45 yards
1 TD

Who got that right? Licht or Belichick?
