Ever heard of Houston Baptist? Me neither.

That’s where he played until he and his OC—who would be better than Patricia—transferred his senior season to Western Kentucky.

A long way from Tuscaloosa. That’s what I meant.

And we decided he should be the starter after an awful preseason, one game where he just asked to stay out of the way, another game where they went run heavy and just asked him to throw in spots, one great game, and one awful game?

You dont want BB gone , trust me. Look at the coaches around the nfl. yes its bad. Very bad this yr. But he can coach .But yes he needs to show fixes soon. We thought it would suck when brady went and it does. It wull be whole another level with revolving door of coaches. Who do you want replacing him ? Not very many out there.
I have said to all those guys who want Bill's head on a spike outside Foxboro... Who do you want to replace him? There isn't chit out there, I agree. However, they certainly have looked outcoached the last couple of games. Not like what we are used to seeing around here.

Honestly you should have put in a choice for Bill Belichick because it all starts with him. I think he has struggled as a coach tremendously since Brady left, and without Brady alot of warts have been exposed. His decision making has been piss poor the past several years and perhaps this year being the worst. (Yes Patricia needs to go….but the issues they are having start with BELICHICK! Maybe it’s time for a complete coaching and GM change for New England.
I didn’t create the poll. It apparently carried over with a post that was merged into it.

Never heard so many Pats players have opinions after a game like today. It's a wow moment.

Guess their media training person got fired?

They really must be fed up. Worst and most ironic part of course is none of them have earned the right to mouth off in public like this.
Huh? Those players put their bodies on the line on every play and have every right to criticize, especially considering that their income is also affected by the dumb decisions being made by the pencil pushers on the sideline.

The wow part to me is that they've stayed quiet for as long as they have.

People are rewriting history. Belichick is the greatest coach of all time. But I think he has lost his fast ball and making decisions he wouldn’t have made 20 years ago. No way in 2000 would he have put the offense in the hands of two coaches with no offensive experience nor would he have the OC also be in charge of the o-line because the o-line coach has to be working with the line when the defense is on the field. Patricia has no time to do that.

I also think the game has radically changed in recent years and he doesn’t seem to be adapting like he used to with league changes. It is reminding me of Joe Gibbs when he came out of retirement and the game had become too fast for him.

This is not the same Belichick of 20 years ago or even five years ago. He is making decisions that are out of character for him. It is almost as if he is just holding on to get Shula’s record.
He's holding on for the record and to try and secure a spot for his children. Neither will happen.

Very interesting. A collision course is looming. All good things must come to an end.

That’s on the table. Belichick agreeing to step down after some heated meetings with Jonathan and Robert.

Cuz we’re not making the playoffs. Miracle do happen. But not often.
I can definitely envision that happening , especially as reports are Jonathan runs more of the day to day operations of the organization as Kraft is getting older.. Jonathan is all business! Bb I can definitely see after the season to amicably part ways..

I know this could all be speculation ,but the patriots franchise is a proud organization that has been built on championship pedigree..

First, the Bills o-line was exponentially better than the Pats o-line since the Pats didn’t have an o-line for most of the night. Even when Stevenson ran for good yardage, he was breaking tackles at the line of scrimmage and making plays on his own.

Second, Jones did a good job at times eluding pressure and not so much at others. And many times he was a sitting duck because the defense had a jail break rush on him.

Third, which is it? Jones doesn’t look past his first read or is he a Checkdown Charlie? You Mac haters are all over the place with your criticism of him.
The Bills OL knows that Allen will get rid of the ball fast or take off running. Allen is not a statue or slow. He processes what happens on the field quickly.

The Bills know how to play Jones to the letter. I dont even need to search to know that Jones numbers are horrendous vs that defense.

This is no different than when Bledsoe was the QB. The OC was no good. The OL couldnt block. Bledsoe needed this guy and that guy and then we can win. Then Brady steps in and begins to execute. Convert 3rd downs. Make clutch plays and emgineer game winning drives. Brady had 3 in his 2nd year in 2001 and Jones has NONE. Dont expect any either because Jones cannot bring the team back from behind.

Zappe should have been given a chance, but I understand that could create a QB controversy if the offense began to move and god forbid score TDs. Hopefully next game Patricia lets Jones throw deep like he wants. These checkdowns are going to get Meyers and Stevenson on IR.

Seriously, I asked you this before. How old are you? I, just saying what I'm thinking every time I read posts like this.

Patriots fans of a certain age have never seen bad head coaching.

We got beaten by the Bills last night. Care to look into their head coaching history?

What's lame is your post, because he kept that play alive.

It wasn't pathetic at all because he actually got himself in position to set and throw the ball. His receivers gave up on the play. No one came back like they are taught to do when the play extends. WRs are supposed to know what to do in those situations

There is no point to have this team in this postseason. None.

Play out the remaining games and let Mac do what he wants. Let him throw downfield. Let him throw more INTs because that is what will be coming if the Pats give him his way. Unless its vs some slug of an NFL team that is down on its luck. Some NFL team like Birmingham College back in the Alabama glory days.

The Pats have one of the best Secondary's in the NFL. Did you see some of the throws that Allen made? Its nothing but a pack of lies and BS from anyone claiming that Jones can do that.
I question the secondary right now, Jonathan Jones just Cannot seem to compete with elite WRs.. Jones is a much better player than he's displayed last 2 weeks, Diggs is just a pros pro.
Excellent route runner, uche was the the only one on D making plays.. well.. I'm sensing some real strife on this team..

Kraft is never going to fire him. He most certainly could be convinced to retire, but I don't think there's any way they just axe him. I think that would require a regime change from RKK to Jonathan, which is certainly possible. RKK hands reigns to Jonathan, bill decides he's not working for a second gen owner and goes. At least that's what will be presented to the fans.
If Bill isn't going to work for a 2nd generation owner will he expect the owner to take on a second gen coach?

Old enough to know what I'm saying, the fact you don't agree with things people post doesn't make you right pops! I'm old enough to have seen the squish the fish game, I'm old enough to remember how bad we were in the 80s, old enough to remember how bad we were in early 90s, old enough to know all good things come to an end.. and what does the bills head coaching history have any relevance to a game played in December 2022.. #12 was the sole reason our hall of fame coach is in fact just that!

The jets had an historic draft that is arguably the best since the 2017 saints. They only have a couple holes on their roster & jimmy g may be on the way.

Why is this relevant? The jets could be an 11-12 win team next year & the sweep is unlikely. If there isn’t a change in the offensive coaching staff the pats will win 5-7 games next year in a division with three double digit win teams IMO.

Pats put up a decent fight, but the lack of talent is glaring on both sides of the ball.

This is now the 4th year in the row the late season decline is happening.

This is now two games in a row Judon has been invisible. The December slide is happening again.

Since Mac has returned, Rham has been a top target in the passing every week! That is not good. It's a product of poor play design, bad OL and no talent at WR/TE. The 3rd and 15 play Kirk Herbstreet highlighted showed two players running deep side by side like it was return coverage and two guys running short routes which Mac took. This has been a common theme. Matt has some horrible play designs.

Meyers only does damage when the game goes as scripted and he gets open in zone after LB's bite off PA. Aside from that, he disappears. He's an easy cover maned up. WR's need a major overhaul next offseason.

Jonu Smith might be the easiest TE to defend. Just watch him come out of the backfield. S's and LB's are getting the night off when they face both Henry and Smith.

The screen to Marcus Jones shows us what can happen when you have speed to burn. Those screen passes were a Patriots staple for many years and were regarded as one of the best screen teams in the league even when Brown, Patten and Branch were doing this. Welker/Edelman took it to another level. They are pretty ineffective at doing that these days.

OL also needs a major overhaul.

Mac has a pedestrian arm. That's just who he is. He is at his best when someone gets open right away to hide his weakness rather than the play breaking down and he has to chuck it deep.

Same result, different day for Diggs. 9 targets, 7 receptions 92 yards and a TD. Diggs just owns the Pats.

He isn't great but belichick didn't do him any favors with this offensive talent either. Jones is an average quarterback at best, the offensive line is a complete mess, the receivers are Jags and the running backs are hit or miss.
I disagree with almost everything here.

1. Offensive talent was lesser last year and they got better results
2. Still a way to go for him, and if he were on a team with the same amount of talent, but with, for instance, someone like McDaniels as coach, I bet Mac would be highly successful, since he is uncannily accurate with his throws.
3. We do have some injuries now, you can be sure McDermott doesn't know any plays, but Patricia is the OL coach
4. That defines Agholor, but Parker has had a lot more success elsewhere, Bourne was excellent for us, and Jakobi is a good route runner, good possession WR
5. Our running backs are excellent

We should've been building on last year. Instead we've regressed. Basic stuff. The ability to run simple plays. There's a huge level of dysfunction here that has absolutely nothing to do with the capability of the players.
