By the numbers: Patricia's offense downright offensive

Fat Matt might be the worst coordinator in the league. The play calling for the most part was very predictable. Him and Judge should be on the first train out of town but won't be. So now I wonder what the fall out will be with Mac because he voiced his displeasure? Fat Matt doesn't like criticism it seems based on his inexplicable downgrading of Bourne on the offense.

Patricia also seems to have an incredibly thin skin and he holds grudges. This is not what you want in an OC.

How anyone can judge what a QB is doing with this level of incompetence is beyond me.
Who's he holding a grudge against? Patricia sucks but we don't need to just make things up.

Maybe you could say Bourne giving whatever happened this off-season but problem with that narrative is Bourne's been given plenty of opportunities to win his role back and he literally drops the ball.

Who else do you think he's holding grudges against?

Patricia also lost the locker room in Detroit and looks close to losing another one.

Only Bill would reward incompetence by taking someone who was an absolute failure and putting him in a role he has never done before.

But he's a yes man and he's cheap!

The season has been done since September, bro. It was clear then that this isn’t a Super Bowl caliber team. And frankly, salvaging the season to being a couple games above .500 isn’t going to do anything
The season still isn't over if we can actually win our next two. Tough road stretch but winnable opponents. That would get us to 8-6. The ultimate goal is SBs but not everything is measured by it. Right now we need to find out who on this team might be capable of it in their career at all nevermind this year. How this team responds the rest of the way goes a long way to determining if this is fixable in the next year or two or if we maybe need reset the rebuild.

The players are beginning to revolt. According to one report, Bourne let it slip postgame that opposing defense down-and-distance tendencies aren't even part of the game plan.
You don’t need to know this for runs up the middle or 3 yard passes to your rb in any given situation

Also time to get rid of Brian as defacto DC/playcaller...personally I think Bill is just trying to set him up so that he takes over as HC after he retires. In his capacity as HC, he put family over team. What qualifications does Brian and Stevie have? Zero.

It sounds like the Stadium is revolting too. Bedard said there were a lot of Bills fans there and the Pats fans were quiet and even started booing after the game went to 17-7. Yikes.

The article I saw quoted 'run the ball, the quick game sucks'
He (Mac) confirmed in the postgame presser that he wanted to throw it deep. Based on what I saw, our guys would have to make 50/50 grabs as nobody was consistently getting even a hair open on the deeper routes.

I'll say what I have said all along:

1) Mac Jones, after a good first-half rookie season, has shown no consistent evidence of being the sort of qb worth holding onto as a "franchise quarterback."

However...

2) Because the offensive coaching is abysmally (weirdly, unaccountably, yet completely predictably) terrible, we can form no final assessment of Mac Jones.

So,

3) I blame Bill Belichick for this, as he himself encouraged us to do. If I were the Krafts, I would have some d----d pointed questions for him, the sort of question where if you don't have a d---d good answer, you're in trouble.

4) Matt and Joe MUST be fired and replaced NOW, not because we have a legit shot at the playoffs - we don't - but because we have to find out what, if anything, we have in Mac Jones, and we can't find that out for so long as he is burdened with Mickey Mouse, dimwit coaching and playcalling.

I hate hearing the team booed for any reason, I reserve mine for the refs. It wasn't overwhelming last night but the offense did get booed. As for number of Bills fans it wasn't huge. I've noticed that opponent fan numbers at NFL games are on the upswing generally across the league.

I just saw that in a different article. Either way the plays being called were not positioning the team to get back in the game.

It is how amazing how schizophrenic the offense was last night in terms of play calling. The Pats came into the game with a specific game plan that actually worked for one drive (play). But as it started to fail, Patricia changed the strategy every drive it seemed.

Sometimes multiple times during a drive. Look at after the half, Stevenson has two successful runs in a row and then gets stuffed on the third run. Mac Jones ran the next down on a sneak and then they threw four straight passes after that.

It didn't help that the Pats were playing scared in the first half...I couldn't believe they punted on 4th and 1 on the opening drive.

Geno Smith: 19 TDs.....Passer Rating 107.9.........QBR 64.2.....6 Wins

Tua:.................19 TDs.....Passer Rating 115.7.........QBR 82.8......8 Wins

JV Corkster: 6 TDs........Passer Rating 87.3...........QBR 35.2.....4 Wins
Geno Smith: OC: Shane Waldrom a guy who has coached offenses for 15 years. WR: Metcalf and Lockett.

Tua: OC: Frank Smith who has a decade of offensive experience on top of an offensively minded HC. WR: Hill and Waddle.

Mac: OC Matt Patricia a guy who has been an offensive coach for like 2 years over 15 years ago, mostly has been on defense and is very suspect. WR: Meyers and.... Bourne/Agholor/Parker. Either way the best of those wouldn't have a spot on those other teams.

Hmmmmm

The OC needs to call the game from upstairs. Being on the sideline isn't working. If you run the stats comparing offenses around the league with OCs on the field versus upstairs, I'm sure you will see a huge difference. This HAS to be the problem. Easy fix!
