By the numbers: Patricia's offense downright offensive

When Mac plays bad it's the coaches fault. When Mac plays good he is the reason why. Got it.

I never thought of it that way, maybe you're on to something. Perhaps Mac is figuring out ways to elevate Patricia's finger-paint-by-numbers system and his Minnesota performance was an indicator. We'll see.

Here is a video of Mac before Tuesday's practice:

Except it disappeared in the 4th. And if they don't have similar overall production against Buffalo then you probably can attribute to the bump to Minnesota's 31st ranked defense.

I'm more curious about the Patriots defense. They completely stifled hacks like Ehlinger and Wilson but then got torched by Cousins who's no Josh Allen. Buffalo's last 9 drives (that weren't end of game situations) against the Patriots have all resulted in TDs. That's quite an ominous streak.
I still am optimistic about our offense compared to what it was earlier in the year and how it performed. It's only one game though, we'll see though. It was indoors in perfect condition as well.

Agree on the defense. We proved we can dominate a young/inexperienced/immobile qb. We haven't fared well against mobile or top qb's/offenses. I'd like for us to be more consistent in that facet. We have a big test this week with Allen who is as difficult to defend this side of Mahomes. Again, we'll see. Hoping for the best.

Patricia was put in a horrible spot, so I don't blame the guy. He has zero experience as a play designer/caller and we are mad at him? On top of that, he's asked to coach the OL which he doesn't have much experience in that either. He's wearing too many hats. I'm surprised he didn't tell Bill he'd rather focus on defense and help his son and Mayo.

Then you have Joe Judge who's never coached QB's before and not much offensive experience. He's also put in a horrible spot.
Bill needs to start poaching guys around the league and build a better staff since he doesn’t have connections he did in the early days. The team needs some new ideas on offense.

You think a good forum is where everyone agrees and jerks you off?

Your extreme, insulting response is evidence of exactly what I'm referring to.

Top 3 accurate passers in the league right now.

Patricia needs to get better scheming up plays in the red zone.
And I've said this previously....Mac has been taking waaaaaaaaaaay to many sacks and not throwing the ball away which in turn limits TD chances by consistently being in 3rd and long. His throwing percentage is high for this reason among others.

Mac played well last game and threw the ball away like he should have been all season. I'm encouraged. Lets see how it goes going forward.

A fan always should hope for the best and for improvement, but two-thirds of this season is in the books and the trend spells mediocrity. This team has the talent to be much better. Patricia's system, and by extension BB's staff decisions, are on trial through these final six games.

You're right about everything, you're knowledge is immense, and is only overshadowed by the giving person you are in the community...do you feel better now?

I've posted plenty of stats, you just don't like them. And I've also posted percentage fault plenty of times. You think a good forum is where everyone agrees and jerks you off?
This part isn't necessary - just throwing that out there.

I'm going to agree with Ian here. Keep that kind of trash talk for video game sessions with your extremely cool and totally sexually active video gaming friends. It has no place here, squirt.

LOL, yeah, and here are the parts of this one that also could have been left out. Man, people are fired up today apparently.

Keeping fingers crossed that we started last week with a good turnaround!!

Oh wow you made a thread dedicated to banging the same drum you bang in every other thread

Matt Patricia might not be better than McDaniels but the 11 players on offense at a given time need to make football plays. It’s really that simple.

Nothing to do with your QB throwing more interceptions than TDs 10 weeks into the season. No, that can't be it at all

It's a 3-pronged Trident of Suck: Coaching, QB & OL... The only question is the percentages each of them should be ass-igned...

Nothing at all wrong with the OP; those numbers merely confirm what we've been seeing All Dam Year.

thank you. There were several plays in the Minnesota game that would have popped if the key blocker made their assignment. The double reverse, Strange couldn't contain his man, pass in the flat to Stevenson, CB runs over the WR attempting to block, play blown up, pass to the flat to Stevenson and he gets taken down by a toe. DO YOUR JOB.

I am a homer, no doubt, like many here

I support BB without question. Does not mean I cannot criticize him when it's called for, like many here. When we do critique or criticize him and the teams performance it's kinda B's to drop the triggered bomb... That ain't nothing but trolling...

BB said at the beginning of the season, if it doesn't work out blame him. In this instance I am blaming him. I believe it if we had a quality OC, not one learning on the job, this team would be 9-2 or 8-3... But we don't and we aren't... And I've said this early and often we need an o line coach... It's untenable that Patricia is splitting time between the two...

The seasons results so far squarely fall on BB shoulders. It's up to him to make the necessary changes after the season to take advantage of the talent this team has... The coaching staff needs to be expanded, especially on offense... More attention to detail is needed to eliminate all these stupid drive killing penalties we see in every game...

I don't blame MP for his failings this year... I do blame BB... I also expect him to look at the short comings this season has exposed and correct them... I will be disappointed if he doesn't

Yep, it's like the old saying goes: I don't blame you as much as I blame the one who hired you...

It’s crazy to put this all on Matt Patricia. It’s been a combination Horror show with Bill Belichick, Mac Jones, Patricia, and judge all playing starring roles. Ultimately, the Lionshare of blame should probably go to Bill and to Mac. Something different is needed with this team. If Bill does not make some changes after this season that is probably a sign that for Kraft, it may be time to move on.

Don't forget our offensive OL in all this, especially the Tackles... A point some of us have been fearing since before the season ever started.

And oh yeah whoever's coaching the OL too... Anyone know?
