Our coaches are mostly leaving to become head coaches or go with the ones becoming new head coaches. I don't think it has anything to do with pay.
It seems to be clear that BB prefers to promote from within, or at least coaches who had previous experience with the Pats. The times that they have brought in coaching stars from other organizations things did not go well. In the old days there was a deep bench of coaches who were experienced and proven. In my opinion the number of coaches who have left over the past few years has drained the pipeline to the point where BB felt he needed to try to fit a couple of round (one very round) pegs into square holes on the staff.

The BB Coaching tree have been meh aside from Vrabel and Flores some he certainly knows how to beat us. Regarding McDaniels' it remains to be seen.

Oh absolutely. But you can't usually convince coaches to stay when they have a shot at a HC job. Hell, they did a good job keeping McD even when he did have HC options.

Didn't McDaniels stay as long as he did because of the money?
No

Word was that BB would show him the GM cap management side of the business.

With so many HC failures from New England , we can confidently hire assistant coaches . Nobody is gonna get poached. We have Patricia, judge, McDaniels and to a smaller extent Flores to thank for.

What's really "peanuts" is our available salary cap space... And it ain't gonna be Nearly as much next year as some people believe either.

I agree it is not as much as people expect, but BB can "stretch" it by having a lower first year (back ending the contracts). What does that have to do with Tavai's contract. Filling a spot with Tavai's low contract is good to keep as much cap space as possible.

I would think they'd try to move some money around to make more room if they wanted to.
They could - they'd probably have to sign some extensions for guys whose contracts are nearing their ends, which they are probably seeking to do anyway. If they restructure the deals at the same time to lower the cap hits on the existing deals and backload the new years then they could create a pretty decent amount of space. Guys with bigger cap hits who are in the last year of their deals in 2023 that they may want to extend include: Hunter Henry, Kendrick Bourne, DeVante Parker, Trent Brown, Ja'Whaun Bentley. They could also restructure Judon any time.

Lots of people hated MacDaniel's when he was here.

Now, they want him back.
Hard to complain with the offensive production when Brady and McDaniels were working together.

Offensive Coordinator has to be the most second guessed, hated, toughest coaching position on a team. McDaniels was always getting criticized, now Patricia I think is even more hated than him. I don't remember if BOB was as hated when he was here, probably so though.

You didn't visit many GDT's back then.
Brady and McDaniels were top 10 in scoring every season together. But your statement is mostly correct. I still don't, which most often is probably a good thing (regarding my forum privileges).

I usually give the oc a pass. I might not like a play here or there, but Patricia brings it to a new level. The offense looks confused, inept, and poorly conceived

Von Miller being out helps. We're still gonna get wrecked by Buffalo unless BB can come up with a super duper genius gameplan to shut down Josh Allen. I think this will be like the Minnesota game but worse. Once the scoring begins in earnest, the Pats have no chance of keeping up with Mac Jones and Matt Patricia still 'leading' the offense.

This is so true.

Bills fans wanted to fire Daboll and we had either a the 1st or 2nd best offense in the NFL while he was OC lol.

Brings back memories of Ernie Zampese smoking up a storm.
An then Pats fan NEM who waxed ballistic at every Charlie Weiss OC move in every post.|
Good times.
